This 1982 Boker Whittler came in a box with a sharpening stone.

Boker Whittler in Washboard Bone

REALLY like these handles, been after one for ages. I have the Green Washboard Bone version, well whatever the bone this is a fine knife and merits more attention.

Thank you, Will

Nice knives. I especially like the washboard bone whittler and the sheepsfoot Barlow is slightly unusual. Here's a few Boker penknives

Note all three knives use slightly different tree stamps on the bolster. I would be curious to date them if anyone has a link to Boker Bolster stamp dates. Note the pen blade on the German Boker has a different tang than the US ones.

Does anyone own a Boker made in Bridgeport Ct.? Boker purchased the George Schrade Knife Co. in 1956.
George Schrade manufactured automatics in Solingen and fled at the start of WWI starting another company in B'port, Ct. The tang was stamped Geo. Schrade Knife Co. on one side and Boker on the other. Most were automatics but there were some folders.
Unfortunately automatics were outlawed 2 years later. The company was liquidated at auction. All equipment sold for 10 cents on the dollar.

Just picked this up in a trade, a Boker USA, pattern 3588. Not sure of it's build period, they seem to have made a delrin model later than the bone. Anyone know?

Best regards

Best guess from what I can see, the shied used is before 1975, I'm guessing Wiss & Sons era? Bokers, are very difficult to date, the reuse old tang stamps all the time whenever they feel like it, the Boker USA tang stamp on yours was used from
1945-1983, the shield on yours used before 1975, 40's 50's and 60's used different shield than the one on yours, so best all around guess is after 1960 before 1975? But again just a educated guess.

Tang stamps on US made Bokers

If it is a Chinese or USA or any other country knife, is it still a Boker?

I have four Bokers and a Chinese knife here. Can you pick the chinese knife out?

I can't see enough details, but if the shield says Solingen it's 100% made in Germany, if the shield says Germany it is outsourced.
