I agree, I just realized how difficult it must be to make those angle grinds on the edges of the scales, very interesting to say the least (Besides Beautiful).

That Scot Cook looks better every time I see it. What a great knife

Here's another angle showing the handle curves. It really is like a piece of titanium sculpture.

I totally agree, it is a custom piece of titanium sculpture by a very talented Mr. Cook. The blade on the Lochsa is also part of the plan and what a beautiful plan it is, I've never seen damascus like that before. What combination metals is that damascus made of?

The description for the Damascus reads "ATS-34 and AEB-L".

Something's screwy with my image host, but here's an attachment picture in the meantime - Gary House Zebra Damascus on the 21st Anniversary Knife.

DallasSTB, Zebra damascus always puts a tear in my eye but when it's on a 21, I can't stop crying. I hope Santa Claus someday grants my one and only wish, Thank You for sharing brother.

Dennis, you outdo yourself with every post! I guess that is the new Prinsloo then ... Absolutely stunning!! I might need to branch out more ...

Thanks Serg .... yup, this be her. Since this is the CRK forum, didn't want to go overboard on the pics, but do have a few more posted in The Gallery section of BF if you are interested. I've mentioned this before, but it would really be great if CRK would add a few more interesting Damascus designs to its offerings. I mean, when you see all the neat variations being posted here which were, at one time or another, used by CRK ..... well, it makes me long for something other than regular Raindrop or Ladder!!

I'd be happy with high carbon :) Yours looks similar to my WH copper/VG5 on the previous page of this thread, but better.

And, of course, the Michael Burch damascus in my avatar.

Yes Serg, that copper wave that WH uses is certainly interesting. For whatever reason, I haven't taken to their knives. Some are overly ornate and others don't appeal to me for a variety of reasons. Two of their models, however are the exception ..... and I keep going back for 2nd, 3rd ..... and 50th looks. Those are the B30 Monsoon with the amboyna burl inlays and Rob Thomas Typhoon pattern Damascus. The other is the B12 Backwoods with the box elder burl inlays and ZDP-189 core blade. Regardless, all of their knives (even the affordable, by my standards) are certainly good looking.

WH's are interesting beasts ... some quite expensive and for the money I would pick up a blackwood or todd fischer. Some like the one you mention (the backwoods, which I was close to buying many times) are great. The ZDP-189 blade is wicked and operation is like nothing I've experienced .... very smooth, delicate and precise. And incredibly light. Somebody (I think it was Locutus D'Borg) said he was glad they put a lanyard on, otherwise they would float out of your hand. That's a pretty accurate description.

If you can get that B12, I highly recommend it (I like the blade profile much better than the B30). They are very very refined pieces and I think you will enjoy!
