My new CSC showed up today.

If ya can't tell, I have a thing for single blades and wood scales.

Typical CSC quality that will make a nice addition to my humble collection, but she's got a ways to go to be in the Indian Jacks league.

Thanks for looking.

Hey those are nice! Very good stuff there. What woods are those? Looks like cocobolo on the middle one but not sure on the other two.

They are all wonderful looking knives. That Northwoods is a real beauty and I can see why you'd think it would be hard to beat.

Yea,,, I like everything about it.
Definatly my favorite pocket knife ever, but I don't have the expeience most on here have.
It's kinda spoiled me with all the other knives.
But I keep looking. :o

Arrgh that Indian River Jack again! I'm lovin the looks of that knife, and it sizes up nice to the CSC (which is a nice knife too!)

Just added to my wish list :D

Charlie....

So you have me curious, what is it about the Northwoods Indian Jack that has you singing its praises ....steel is similar ATS34 vs. 14-4crmo , handle length at 3 3/4" on both..is it comfort in the hand/blade shape

Well,,, the handle length actually isn't equal but I knew that going in.
Sorry for the crappy pic.

Other than that, the smooth equal ends carry better in the pocket, and (like you mentioned) the KW feels better in "MY" hand. Finish, and snap on the NW's is better IMO, but again I'm not an expert.
One thing that bugs me on the CSC is that the shield's proud so the buffing wheel wasn't able to get at the area around it leaving the finish very uneven.
I'm like em both though, and I'm sure the two different blade profiles and grinds will serve well.

PS,,, I'm a big fan of CSC so please don't think I'm ripping on em, cause I ain't.

Charlie..

Thanks for the answer....and if I thought you would of been anything other than honest I wouldn't have asked

Nice knives on show there, thanks for showing them.

You might like to consider a GEC 73 single blade in Coco or Ebony or their latest No.48 in stainless in American Cherry. Zebra wood can look very good too, Queen Cutlery has various knives in it.

Thanks, Will

Well, I have a couple of those

I only have a few traditional knives with wood handles, the 2010 forum knife and some puukkos. Here are the puukkos.
