Sharpest Knife You've Ever Owned

Stock, my Caly Jnr Grey and Centofante III.
Modded, Melancholy Mutt's beater Ek5 with grind lines that are WAYY off

Beretta Busfield Trailing Point. Very similar in design to Al Mar Falcon & Eagle: Micarta scales, no liners, lockback design. Wicked sharp out of the box (AUS 8; made in Japan.) Discontinued model, but found & bought another and again...ridiculously sharp right out of the box.

Second place: Spyderco Ronin.

a 2nd on the Ronin. When I first got it I tested it by tossing an old t-shirt into the air slashing it with the Ronin. The t-shirt was sliced clean through both layers. Only about an inch of fabric remaining. A verticle top to bottom slash BTW. No kiddin scary. If I had no choice but to knife fight that would be my choice. Nice work Spyderco, Snody/Janich.

Al Mar Sere 2K, Cold Steel Voyager, Spyderco Police, Military, and Paramilitary. All are top contenders in the world of sharp. Classic designs as well. Now you know why.

It sounds like there will be no consensus here. I wonder if anyone has successfully shaved using an out-of-the-box knife?

I've tried. Everytime I thought I'd be successful, I wasn't. Almost all the knives I've bought will shave arm hair out of the box, but I haven't found anything yet that's sharp enough to shave my face. Still looking....

Never bought a production knife that would shave my face NIB.

Sharpest out of the box? Customs aside, it had to be my Ronin - that makes what, three or four of us? Runners up would be my Yojimbo and D'Allara 2 and two Benchmades, one very old, their Walter Brend folder, and one new, the import Red Class Snody Instigator.

Reprofiled? I have this old carbon steel ham slicer I took down to an insane edge, damn near zero angle with a hair of microbevel.

The Cabela's Alaskan Guide Buck 110 was my sharpest-out-of-the-box knife ever.

Second place is probably my Spyderco Atlantic Salt.

Out of the box sharpest knife I've seen, is a BRKT Forager, full convex grind top to bottom, it's even more impressive that the blade is 1/4" thick  :D
Resharpened sharpest one was a Nieto Outback, a small knife made of 440C with a hollow grind, easy to get a wire-edge with that one, not very durable though, so I reprofiled it a bit to avoid that, now it's harder to get it sharp, but when it's sharp, it stays sharp ;)

Lone Wolf T2, s30v, sharpest out of the box, and after a little touch on the Sharpmaker and a leather strop... touch-the-blade-and-cut-you sharp.

Cold Steel medium Vaquero; it splits hairs and cuts meat like it`s made of butter. An excellent pocket knife.
The Opinel carbon blade is second in line.
