Shave of the day?

Been admiring that shaving -mug for a while now. Just the right shape, tapering to the base. Mind if I ask where you got it? I'd like to get one.

Thanks, Will

It was an Herban Cowboy set that was available on eBay for a while. The mug and matching badger brush were handmade by some well-known(?) maker out west somewhere. Being a face-latherer and a boar fan, I don't use either as much as I should...

Here is the brush...

Thanks for the info Mark. Pity, I was hoping it would be available from a potter. Not sure about ceramic handles on a brush, seems fragile.

Hello All,

I shave right out of the shower. This is how it happens:

Pre shave oil with Art of Shaving unscented

Whip up a good lather with Art of Shaving unscented soap, and apply with my silvertip badger hair brush.

Shave with the grain first, then re-lather and shave lightly against using my rhodium plated 1960s Gillette Fatboy DE razor.

Super cold water when I'm finished, and some men's Shiseido Moisturizing Emulsion.

Soft as a baby's butt!!!

The old Herban Cowboy mug and brush were made by Campbell Pottery of Cambridge Springs, Pennsylvania for Herban Cowboy when Herban Cowboy was still located in Pennsylvania. The outlet store in Cambridge sold factory seconds (the firsts were put in shave sets), but they were a special product run.

I assume that you use the loupe to inspect your face after the shave for any stubble.
