Still a bit rude to call someone out over 25% off on a used item, when you yourself claim to like to haggle. Maybe he offered 25% less hoping you'd counter with 10 or 15% off so y'all could come to an amicable transaction?
A gentleman would have made a counter offer or politely declined.
25%??? Jeez. If it was 50% then I could understand making a stink about it.

I don't see where anyone was trying to screw you. An offer is an offer and you can take it as you will. 25% off asking seems well in the range to accept, negotiate or just decline without getting butt hurt. Why not see if he was willing to pay $275 or 300? Did you even ask or go straight to blown gasket?
