Bad Shepardcc scam

He uses other social media, and he wasn't really jumping on the train to make things right from what I observed in the last 2 weeks.

You are so right! And thanks with BF mods stepping in this way I hope he knows now he's being looked at. And not just skimming under the sh*t bag radar like he has been. Agian thanks to the mods and the community for dealing and calling this problem out.

I'll be another one to thank Rev and the other mods for taking this action. I know you guys don't take stuff like this lightly.
I truly hope this opens his eyes to this being HIS, and his alone, fault.
A sign of maturity is being able to say, 'I am wrong'. It's really not that hard.
Eric, whether you believe it or not, I hope you see why this happened and stop operating in the manner you have been.
Make stuff and put it up for sale......PERIOD.
Good luck.
Joe

To be fair: I can't pay the bills with sharpening either and I'm sure I can sharpen a knife much, much faster than he can make scales. Granted, I don't charge near as much to sharpen a blade as I'm sure he does to make a scale.

I wonder about the time thing though. I got CF scales made for my Nyala from Cuscadi and the it was 6 days from mailing the knife to having it back in my hand. To me that says they have a template or scales done. I don't think they're done since I change my order the day I mailed my knife while setting up the template may take some time the rest must be pretty quick.

Cuscadi was very quick with my order as well. I think the difference between them and this guy is scale (no pun intended), he's just one man while they're a small company with likely a few people. They do templates as well as custom services so they definitely have manpower.

I had a very similar (bad) experience with him. I posted it on one of the FaceBook SpyderCo forums. I guess one of the mods is his buddy, as they took my post down, and booted me out of the group (I've since returned). When I first posted it on FB, he was on there misrepresenting the situation. What he didn't realize was that I had saved every conversation with him. Someone suggested that I post screenshots of those, and then he started posting comments about how there was no need to post screenshots. All the replies to the forum post, save Eric's, were supportive towards my position. Afterwards, I was contacted by two other individuals who said he had done similar things to them, but that they were afraid to post it to the forum for fear of betting kicked out.

Anyway, here are the screenshots for others that may be interested. The text goes left to right first, then top to bottom.

wow just wow. shepherd needs to seriously rethink his business strategies and model or find a new side business/career.

thats all im gonna say.

Thats really really shady. i want to throw up thinking about it. makes me sick to my stomic.

Wow that is some incredibly incriminating evidence, what poor customer service very rude, he should not speak to customers like that especially in the custom business.

The thing that I think is most significant is that he's lying. On one post he says that he shipped it, then he says that he put the wrong address on there and it was just sitting in his mailbox, then he says in the next post that he shipped it (implying the USPS lost it) and is making another one to replace it on his own dime. Then he goes on FaceBook and misrepresents the situation, saying that I complained and he immediately refunded my payment (not true - refund only came AFTER the FB post). I suspect the truth of the matter is that he was backed up with work, or having trouble getting the raw materials (a poster on FB is one of his former suppliers of carbon fiber, and says he won't do business with him anymore due to issues with payments). If he had just said to me that he was way behind, I would have had no issues waiting for it. Instead he gave me this run-around. Once a vendor lies to you, there's no good reason to do business with them ever again, IMHO.

The best line he posted was at the end him saying I'll just have the post removed. I'm sure he did so he can continue to scam face book as he has here. A few post up I was reading how much money could this provider be making. Well off here and fb and eBay and instagram I would bet he makes a shit ton. You know since there is no overhead. I mean how can you have overhead making items if you aren't really making the items no supplies needed. He's a thief and now posts out of the woodwork are comming even proving it more. He says I'm trying to fix my business practices. Sir you are trying to buy more time with excuses to rip more people off till banned from here. Look at google searches of you your done and you should be. A rat is a rat and you fit that to a T.

I predict in 30 days this guy will be outta here. He's not gonna make it right, and he knows on smaller deals like this between two private parties the cops will turn a blind eye. It's not a couple grand, it's in the $100 ballpark, small potatoes and not worth a DA's trouble. "File in small claims", they'd tell you. Nobody would, it's more than just writing the loss off. Quite the scam. Particularly telling was that his suppliers have payment issues too, he's milking both ends and getting paid in the middle. He'll lie like a rug to keep it going, he's more than proven that. Where he messed up is that if his scales were as well done as folks say but rare- as in what he can comfortably make and ship- he could have charged more and people would pay it for the quality and rarity, gained and held an honorable name, and done that forever.
Nope, instead he took the path he's on and now it's all falling down. A cautionary tale for others- the guy had talent. Had. He'll lose it as he gets less practice, as the bad reviews work their way to the top of the google search, if they haven't already. He'll be the guy at the shows who everyone talks about and nobody goes to his table, until he finally gives it up for good.

^ I wasn't going to comment in this thread anymore...

that is, until I read these screenshots. Thank you for sharing them.

You (and the other Mod's) made the right call, RevDevil!!!:thumbsup: Thank you!

It's easy to sit here and have an opinion/pass judgment, thankfully never having personally dealt with this guy (Eric) . Having read these screen shots and seeing countless other times, where victimized member's have come on here frustrated to the core...

it crystal clear: this kid needs a very long, "TIME OUT!!!"
