SHe's a stripper

Good thread. Honest, respectful exchange of ideas is what it's all about. Also good to hear from Jerry.

I have an SHe (black canvas/muddy) with a number of small indentations/pits (one side only) but the thing is otherwise perfect. Brute of a blade, great feel in hand, handle perfectly flush, tip and grind just right. Nothing like Satin, of course, but somehow it's easier to use a CG Busse the way it's supposed to be used.

That answers that.

.

Actually, it doesn't. A number of people have noted that these stripped SHEII look like no other stripped INFI, ever. Deeper pits than ever seen before. Not dimples. We love our INFI dimples. But pits?

The question, that has not been answered, is why do these knives look so different?

Personally, I am not worried about performance or structual integrity.

But that's me. It is NOT unreasonable for for another person to note that there is a difference, to wonder why, and further to wonder what it signifies.

I have never expected satin under the coating on a CG blade. After stripping a number of Bussekin blades, they have exhibited a range of appearance. Dimples, grind marks, weird tool chatter marks, crazy zig-zags. I'm OK with all of that. If the knife was full height flat ground, then it looks great stripped. Performance trumps beauty on Bussekin Combat Grade.

But deep pits? That is outside our experience.

Let's keep the discussion on the question of the appearance of these knives.

No attacks, no name calling. Just talk about the product. If you are happy with your SHEII, wonderful. Please allow that other people just might not be as happy, or might simply be wondering.

Can we still drink? Cuz, I am.

Well put.

Go back and read the thread. There are no attacks and no name calling. Just one individual being argumentative every time someone suggests getting in touch with Busse to resolve the issue.

I understand his concerns and think he has a point. It's the manner in which he is voicing those concerns that I find objectionable.

Actually it does answer a question. Maybe not the particular question you had in mind, but the question that I did which is if the difference in looks and ugliness translated into any loss of performance.

I still wonder why they look different as well, but it doesn't look like we're going to get clarification from Busse on the matter.

Yeah, I only mention it because of the OPs last post. Closed or not, it can still be viewed.

If the thread can be productive, and we're able to get any more answers, then it would be great that it stays open.

I would not close this thread, as it may prove beneficial to the New people, (First time buyers etc) who are unaware of the different Models-Combat Grade, Battle Grade, Satin etc and what to expect! This may provide Information they are unaware of-There is a BG TGLB on the exchange right now that says BGTGLB and an individual wanted to know if it is INFI-Lot's of New Buyers to Busse who are unaware of what to expect which each Grade etc-Cheers!!

This deserves another "requote"

The thing is, this new INFI looks nothing like any INFI I've seen in my time on this forum (9 years??? yikes).

And while I certainly appreciate the janitor chiming in... there are unanswered questions that I feel are not out of bounds.

Frankly, as others have suggested it makes me feel uneasy about this batch of INFI.

I want to know WHY this batch is different from any other INFI I've ever seen.... and guys have been on here much longer than me have ever seen.

.

I wonder if this run came from a plate of steel that was the same as any other INFI but of a thickness useually used to make thinner blades and to get this batch out they had to use it as is, instead of resurfacing it which would have left them thinner than they had already advertized. Maybe?

Josh or jsnell is back on the name calling again . Who is this guy?
Unfortunately mental midgets have a very poor capacity for comprehension, deductive reasoning and logical conclusion that they resort to name calling.
I don't have time for his all knowing, self righteous incoherent ramblings that he mistakes for smartness.
Josh get off your high horse or the kool aid/ blinders as I said before. Getting off the hive mentality might help your predicament or not. Genetics is a big part.
Frankly , too annoying.
Sorry to the other forum members. I am a decent guy but I have to speak my mind and defend myself from this malicious personal attacks.
Have a great day to everyone except js!

Lugnutt, if you read the stickies, you will see where Jerry says this behavior isn't welcome in this forum. This is his house

On the other hand,
