On a serious note, I'm OK with it because the butt gets thinner towards it's end (like in UF (or DEK) - which I have used most of all my CPKs). Only have problems with smaller handles that have a butt that gets larger towards the end - if that makes sense. And fingers and thumb fit well close to the guard in both saber or reverse positions.

All three 1/4". I've used the right one quite a lot.
