Short Story

If he weren't such a complete idiot, he probably could have pried those bricks apart without damage to the knife. Slowly and carefully, pry with the middle of the blade or the ricasso, NOT the tip.

Take a guess what he couldn't find with both hands in the dark.

LOL,Just what I was thinking.....
To me it seems alot of bricks are getting pried apart with RAT Cutlery ....I think you guys need to make an Entry tool of sorts :D

It is PRECISELY for this reason that I have objected strenuously to the activities of "Noss4" and other ignorant knife-abusers who believe destroying knives sets the standards against which their use should be judged. Such activities create the kinds of unrealistic expectations this person exhibited, in believing he had a "junk" knife because it couldn't be used to pry apart bricks.

Quite an assumption.

Of course, I assume that this guy is just an idiot, and would have done stupid things to the knife regardless of what he saw someone do on the internet.

Who knows. Would have been nice to get the knife from this jerk off and grind myself a new RC-5 1/2 :D.

I'm missing his point too, Tony. Rowen makes the knives for RAT Cutlery (us). We (RAT Cutlery) determine all the specs, warranty, sales, etc.

 what are you talking about, Rowen MFG. is one of the Best in the business and couple that with Jeff/Mike design you have one bad ass piece of Cutlery !

I agree, I'm saying if I ship my knife in YOU cant fix it. Rowen has to or they have to make another knife for you to send to me.... right?

Rowen makes knives for RAT Cutlery. If there is a warranty issue then the customer contacts us. We instruct them to send the knife back to Rowen and then Rowen ships another knife if we ask them to. Rowen is the manufacturer. They do not sell or deal direct with customers. We (RAT) do that.

Thats what I thought. Tops is in the same boat.

Do you guys do anything to the knives?

That would be the wrong assumption. TOPS actually makes some of their own stuff.

We do not make knives. Rowen makes the knives. We design and we have done our own prototyping.

I think i know what hes sayin.. Hes tryin to say You Jeff, Dont actually make the knife you your self, so you cant actually make the actual replacement. Well I think anyway. But all i see is a dude tryin to talk sum shit. All i know is yall make a great product and i love em

It has never been a secret that we do not make our knives. ROWEN DOES! It's even engraved on our knives. ;)

talk some shit? I just bought a rat 4 5 days ago! I knew rowen made them I just dont know alot of details about rowen. I knew my Tom Brown Tracker was made by rowen although its design sucks the steel is great on it. So far the RC-4 has been really good but the finish is wearing fast from batoning. Personaly I dont care I just wondered if they could refinish it themselves but if they had to ship it to rowen it would be more of a financial loss to RAT so I understand why they dont re-finish now:)

Actually it would be the user who would ship it back to Rowen if we had to do warranty work, not RAT.

Our knives are made for using. Again, if you break it, we will replace it. If it gets a little rust or wears, oh well, those are just the signs of a knife that's being used as it should be.

We appreciate you buying and using our knives!

The edge is done by hand but we try to maintain 20 degrees. Sharpmaker works great for touch-ups.

Plus one on this.

It works great. I had to touch up my Izula yesterday, and the Spyderco system is thankfully idiot proof enough for someone like me :D

Great product, by the way.

My Dad was a funny, funny man. Had a great sense of humor. If you used one of his crescent wrenches to hammer something with or something equally stupid, he'd call you a fuckin' retard, tell you to use your head for something besides a hatrack and smack you across the top of your head.

On the internet, the retards rule at times. They were either taken to task by their Daddy-O and they didn't like it so they became more retarded out of rebellion or their Dad was retarded and used wrenches for hammers and screwdrivers for chisels and prybars so they don't know any better.
