Should I re-release the Kephart? Edit: No apparently not

More Kepharts?

I missed the last run of Kepharts, and my hope is that if you do another run, I might have the scratch to nab one this time around... but the longer you wait the better for me.

I was very tempted to vote for the tactical spoons, just because I would love to see if you actually had an idea for a high end spoon. I have no idea what that would be, but I'd love to see what innovation you could bring to a spoon. The idea made me think of the Spartan Blades "Carnivore Personal Dining Set" and how ridiculously tempted I was/am by the idea of needlessly fancy backpack cutlery. But that set lacked a spoon. And I would honestly love to see if Carothers could make the ultimate backpack cutlery set. I feel like there are plenty of good options, but sometimes you want something just absurdly good.

I voted No because the traditional handle scales were too thin for me and the profits were were too thin for you.

If you are feeling the traditional bug, please make a run of nice Ironwood, Coco Bolo, & Osage scales for the EDC. I bugged Jo relentlessly during the last pre-order for these to no avail. They would sell-out like a Friday sale for a new model. No D3V required. I would buy five sets. Dooo It !!!

On another note, I think the prize for winning the Outlaw Cut next October should be getting to pick what model you will run next and first Dibs of the BMF marked one from that lot.

Thanks!

Phil
No matter what is the next release ... ^^^ THIS bolded part ^^^

Oh, and I might purchase a Skinner also ... or 3. And I can always find a reason to play with my DEK.

while I appreciated CPK Kephart that I had (now sold) for various reasons, it is my least favorite CPK knife. Not because it is a bad knife (even though thick edge and unsightly two angle grind did not help he cutting performance) but other CPKs are simply much better.

I like the simplicity of the kephart, handles felt a touch thin.

I would say do a simple fixed blade block handle puukko shaped blade with a flat grind, the texturing that you have the capability of doing would nix the need for any contours in the handle.

Crag the Brewer Crag the Brewer

I didn't mean the above about the knife or Kephart's contributions to the literature of the outdoors...but he was a man with several shortcomings, shall we say. (I don't put on airs to say I am any better...but he does have his detractors and they are not without merit.)

I've read all he's written, visited his campsite in the Smoky's, (which you have to make an effort to find), and also visited his grave.
