Should I re-release the Kephart? Edit: No apparently not

More Kepharts?

Please do another run of the Kephart, it nailed the intention perfectly, It's ugly, plain, not ideal for chopping, or slicing, but it has a nostalgic place in my heart, I dream of endless hours on the trail with only that knife as my companion. Folders, boot knives, winged fantasy fighters, all can wait another year, and besides the Carothers encyclopedia has become too long.

Also, I hope you do some integral daggers, like mentioned previously, and make them available lottery style for your many supporters here. Blade deserves attention, but your true followers are here, and many just can’t make Blade. Do a sale post and take top 100 then do random number generator to pick winners….
I'd argue the true followers are at the Outlaw Cut...

Might as well add my thoughts.

I tried the Kephart. Tried using it as a kitchen utility knife. I figured it would be a decent way to get familiar with how it handled.

I wound up passing it along to another forumite for a good deal.

While there’s nothing wrong with it, as other folks have already pointed out, CPK’s own offerings are just better. It’s the original reason I got into CPKs; that focus, and refinement on all aspects of Performance, from the handle to the blade.

I realized that there really was no scenario where I would pick the Kephart over one of my other CPKs, and I prefer using the Spyderco Phil Wilson Sprig for a kitchen utility knife.

I've been thinking about it all day, and feel I need to clarify; even though kephart is my least favourite CPK model, if you were to drop me into a wilderness survival type situation and gave me a choice of only one fixed blade knife - CPKephart or a similar model from any other knife company- I'd choose the CPK. Everything you need, nothing you don't. Fugly as hell. Good steel.
Had me at steel

I wouldn’t be fully against you making a Kephardt as I’d probably buy another one, but seeing as it would delay other sought after CPK’s, I’d say no way Jose.

I’d absolutely love to see a Micro EDC, that made me excited to read 🤤. Of course the SDFK/SSDFK, Skinner, DEK 1, Folder, you mentioned would be amazing!

While I do love the UF, I don’t feel it would be near as popular as the others in your 1st post, or some others you could make instead.

I’m excited for 2026 and CPK 😍 Woohoo 🙌 🎉 🥳

Your thought process aligns pretty well with my own. I do believe you are correct in this assessment.

Although, I WANT one of the large knives like a SDFK or Chopper, I think I would carry a Micro EDC all the time and it would get used the most. If I understand micro edc, it would be 3” or under blade length, which would make it suitable for neck or pocket carry. Hopefully, very thin stocks vs the current edc model, so it works better for neck and pocket carry. It could be a replacement for a folding knife.

It's not a CPK design and it was not a good seller. It is made with two primary grind angles so it is a difficult, time-consuming, ugly, unprofitable knife.

Obviously I should be doing another run of the Super Duty or the folder or the skinner, a micro EDC or dust off Lorien's glorious DEK1 again. Or even more UFs. Idunno.

Somebody planted a bug in my ear and now I'm seriously considering having some of my 3V Delta rolled out for Kepharts for 2026-2027
Please 😉👍
