Should we have a Hall of Shame section?

This forum has been going on long enough that certain people have become infamous for their misdeeds.

Recently I've considered a "Hall of Shame" section where the most egregious offenders can have their threads stickied.

Do you guys think you'd use such a forum?
 
Without even getting into Mogadishu Mick for another go, this forum sees enough bumping about folks like Allan Blade and the like, that a permanent feature would be way more efficient.
 
One more for the Hall of Shame.......to what standards would one have to lower themselves to get into it and is there any chance of redemption?
 
I think that that would be good. I also think that once ones name is in the hall of shame no comments about them in the hall of shame should be allowed. I am just envisioning another 100 page thread where everyone throws their comments in to the mix. Instead their name should appear with a link to the largest pertinent thread so that when people wonder why they are there they can move from the hall to the pertinent thread. It will keep the main thred cleaner and easier to read through. Just my .02. Thanks spark for the forums and your hard work.
 
Another for a hall of shame.

It would certainly make Keith's job a little easier:D
 
Maybe just a sticky thread where mods (?) would add entries like this?

It's a good idea, but it should be more regulated than most. Maybe only MODs should be able to enter the categories, so we don't get a lot of silly stuff in there. Because theres already one PT list and one is enough. It should just be for thieves and liars, not dumbasses.
 
If I created it, I'd make it so that only Moderators can create new threads, and they would be stickied and publicly viewable. No, we wouldn't allow anyone to list someone on their own.

As far as redemption goes, if the person makes good on their obligations then they'd be removed from the Hall of Shame. There's nothing wrong with making a fresh start after you've paid your dues... there are more than a few formerly banned members who have reregistered under new names after asking for a second chance.
 
Exactly what are you proposing? If it's a sub-forum of this one where we just move the threads that the members have been keeping at the top, I think we'll still be in a legally defensible position. If the lawyers are willing to let us do that I'm certainly not opposed to it; I think it's a great idea.
 
Very important to be legally defensible. I think it's a great idea, just suspect of the timing.

But sure, it's a graet idea and we already know who is first on the short list.
 
Oh BTW, is this to include ALL misdeeds or just the one approved by the Moderators.

I hope you add OJ to the list. Afterall he used a knife to murder and then lied about his culpability. He should at least be number 2!!!!!
 
Ira, you can nominate anyone you want. To be sure your favorite fella Jaxurman would be mentioned. If you want to help nominate people, by all means be my guest; you've shown pretty good judgement on picking out the bad guys over the years.
 
I am very sorry to see people think this is necessary.

But then, I'm just a noob. Haven't been around long. I don't really know how many predators and miscreants are out there. I just read the Thread on M. Snider ... in a state of amazement and disgust. I wanted to disbelieve, but facts are facts. My greatest friends, my true brothers and sisters, are either active duty or veterans...I don't want to think any veteran could act like this.

I absolutely agree people need to be protected from those without honor or integrity.

If this is a legally acceptable way to go...then why not? Just be sure Spark doesn't get into trouble for engaging in what is essentially a Public Service Campaign.

At the least, I can look forward to less time spent helping Mr. Montgomery keep certain Threads on page 1.

EDIT: if it could be arranged, automated ugug has a good idea...
