Show me your Blur!

Ahh, the unanodized Blur. Really digging that and may need to make one of my own. Very cool!

I received one of the carbon fiber blurs today, they are very nice, it's my first blur. Question for you guys who have received them though, did your CF blurs come with pocket clips that appear a little worn? Also there appears to be a little bit of surface rust in between the jimping on the blade, any of you guys have that too on your blurs, I've gotten rid of most of it but i am just wondering if these things are uncommon.

I'm not sure what coating process the clips go through, but if you look at it funny, a ghost line rub mark will show up. I'm just used to it I guess, no biggie as long as it isn't scratched to bare metal. I just checked and my blade looks perfect with no rust anywhere.

The clips almost always look worn, just how the black ends up looking for some reason. Like Jim said, if bare metal is showing on the clip then thats not normal.

Rust isnt normal. My blade came and it was soaked in oil, maybe I should go take a closer look.

I bought 3 from Kershawguy because I felt bad about not buying a green web when he wasn't sure he was going to get any. Of my 3, 2 have no rust. One has a tiny bit in the jimping. Because it is so minor and in a almost invisible spot I'm noy worried about it. I wouldn't have noticed if not for this thread. I'm just going to use a paperclip and a bit of metal polish to remove the 2 tiny specks of rust and call it good.

I really like this carbon fiber's thickness and how it sticks up with a chamfered edge. I'd love some color but prefer the feel of this over the flush Texalium of the ANN and SG10. I haven't found a source of thin blue or purple Texalium sheets to try making my own so it may not be produced in those colors anymore and even a large order might have to be special made making using it cost prohibitive.

I have 2 myself and wouldn't have ever noticed either probably but the second came today so I looked at both of them. The one I got from Dave is perfect but the one I got from GP has this look to it too. See pic to see what I mean.

Like Kyle said I suppose it's nothing that will "bother" me that much but it's just the fact that it IS there........ :(

I missed the XXXX stamp at first and the condition of that knife nearly gave me a heart attack. *deep breathes* it's only a blem.. *exhale*

I was able to clean most of that stuff off with ajax cleaner, but there still is faint amount, now that i look at it though i am not fully convinced it is rust but some other kind of staining. I have another concern though, that maybe my thumb studs aren't symmetrical and centered, like it appears on one end it sticks out more than the other, are any of yours like this? I never had many kershaw's with these style thumb studs so i don't know if it is normal but it bugs my eyes a little bit.

It took me a while to get the blade centered too, but it is now just about centered. I took out the torsion bar too, it opens ridonkulously smooth manually, one of the smoothest knives I've had, i really like it. I'll post pictures of mine later when i get a chance.

Oh another thing i noticed about the knife, is that if you put the clip in the tip down position it doesn't really work well....like the carbon fiber gets in the way of the clip and it doesn't rest like it's supposed to, i don't know if that is something that only happens with the CF blur or all blurs because this is my first.

The CF on these are raised up a bit so thats probably the issue. You might have to bend the clip a little where it attaches to the knife so it works better. If you do that, dont bend it while it is attached. Im assuming that will help the issue, since " doesnt work well" isnt very specific. My normal blurs carry fine when switched to tip up.

Look at this crap. Where do you think I found it!?

Looks like he stripped all the anodizing off the handles pretty decently, but what the hell was he thinking with grinding it to look like a sog tanto?

The BioHazard Blur CF154 is already available for those of you that anxiously await its creation! :p Wow.

this is what he says of himself...While this knife is used, it is very sharp. I own a professional sharpening business and have sharpened it myself...........also anyone notice its missing the screw by the lanyard hole hahaha

I was too busy throwing up in my mouth to notice the missing screw. He also has a black handled blur with a satin snap-on blade that he franken blured from a red snap-on.
