It's about a 9 1/2" of blade, 15 1/4" OAL. The blade is some wickedly sharp Cru Forge V, with a wrought iron spacer and African Blackwood handle.

Roger I LOVE this one!! If you ever want to part w it please let me know. Can u PM me the price on this one or ~ what it'd cost to duplicate?

Redsnake - I'm going to be field-testing this for Russ next month. Russ will be making me a presentation-grade version incorporating any suggestions I have. I doubt there will be many - it's an awesome piece as is. In the event I don't hang on to this one I will let you know. If I do hang onto it, I am sure Russ will be happy to make you one. You can't tell from the pic, but the knife has an internal threaded tang. I can barely see the blackwood plug in the butt cap, it is so seamless.

I really like the shape of this blade and the fact that it is a little "raw". . .I really appreciate the look of forged blades which don't get a full polish afterwards. . .

. . .I actually made a small knife with a blade profile similar to that at a knifemaking class here in Seattle with Dave Lisch. . .it was his shop rat class. Here is my knife. . .it's not a chopper, but I consider it a good camping knife. . .my two are the two in the middle right (not the last two, but the two before that) and the one in my pair which is on the left is the one I'm talking about.

I really should take a picture of just my two instead of a group pic.

The forged finish is pretty cool...especially when you get to see it being forged (or in your case do the actual forging). I took the design from the silver fox chopper but made a few changes that suited my preferences. Have you posted pictures of the finished product from above?

Wow, there are ALOT of great looking blades in this thread! My favorites are still production bowies I've customized with new handles, hardware, etc. Which doesn't seem in the spirit of the theme.

I do like this one quite a bit. It's a Bladesmith (Jeff White) bowie.
