Show me your custom camp knife/chopper.

I really appreciate all the compliments. Doug, it makes me happy that a style you don't typically like has caught your eye. That's kind of what I was going for on that piece.

Good deal, Mike.
I think every collector that likes the brut de forge style should have at least one example in their collection.
I was fortunate enough to recently get to test and mess around with just such an example on loan from Jimmy Fikes.
With much appreciation. Thanks, Jimmy.

Doug,
That's a sweet piece by Jimmy Fikes. Very clean and the forging texture is very well done also. I don't know Jimmy personally but I have seen his work and really like it. Thanks for sharing that pic! You going to Blade? It would be cool to meet you if you are going. I'm at 10Q.

I dig those Fikes/Keeslar BdF type blades... yours is no exception, Mike. Well done.

Shockbrain,

I'd like to use that for slashing off a new trail! a very ergo handle and a long blade.

My Siegle Scythe. 14" long, .25" thick, 3" wide 5160 blade. 29" OAL. I think it's differentially heat treated. It's a chopper for sure.

I recently finished up a knife that I think would fit this category.
5160 14 1/8" overall length 3/16th thick 2 1/2" tall at its widest point with Cocobolo scales.

Heres a couple W2 camp knives forged from some of Dons 2' rounds. They measure .187'x8"x13.25"OAL.One has a Gabon ebony handles with stainless tubing for fasteners and the other is glow in the dark, dark orange canvas micarta frome Shadetree over black g-10 liners with stainless pins.Peace,McAhron

Dave Behrens I really love that second chopper. Love the sheath also. Looks very functional. What is the blade length and thickness of that second one?
