Show me your custom camp knife/chopper.

pork!pork!pork!

This blade is forged of 1075 steel and is 10 inches. The fittings are forged stainless and bronze. The wood is some really nice Gidgee. I love this wood. OAL is about 15-1/2 inches.

Kougera, You actually use your knife in the field? What a radical concept!!!

Rick Marchand. Very nice! How about some details, steel, handle materials, lengths? Thanks. John

whipped this ugly one out start to finish on the 4th of July just for fun.. I'll use it in our friendly little California Knifemakers Association cutting completion next week. First time I've forged one in this style with the integrated guard.. I got a little inspired to forge it after seeing some of Joe Kesslar's brut de forge knives. It was fun.. I'll be making some more for sure.

Two choppers I've made recently. 12 and 11.500" blades.

Nata come in various sizes and shapes, but most fit the description of a light brush hatchet or heavy camp knife. Common characteristics include thick spines and heavy blades with a bit of forward lean for chopping power, and often single beveled edges similar to Japanese wood chisels.
