I just finished my first subhilt and thought I better post it on here. The blade is 10 inches of 1095 steel. The fittings are 416 Stainless and the handle is Walrus Ivory. I hope you like it. Lin

Lin I just saw this

This knife deserves a thread of it's own

Great knife:thumbup:

Thanks Joe. I got Kenny Rowe to make the sheath and Chuck Ward shot it again in the sheath. Lin

Lin: Awesome package. The white thread and black leather totally compliment the ivory and handle spacers. EXCELLENT!

Thank you sir. That's exactly the effect I was wanting to get. The basket weave pattern is often found on police officer's belts and holsters and I kind of like the "official" look it gives.

I think Cody actually makes most of the sheaths now at Rowe's Leather. He's been a real pleasure to deal with and is quite the artisan himself. Lin

WOW...that sheath is PERFECT for that subhilt.

Congrats to knife AND sheath makers.

THAT is a SWEET package.

There are some amazing knives and photography in this thread. The sub-hilt fighter is my most favorite fixed blade design. I have a few to add to this thread.

Lin, I Don't like Subhilts, save for something from Brend but, your 10 inchs of 1095, 416 Stainless and Walrus Ivory has an amazing handle. A true eye for design in the curves.

A much older slender Loveless, and a really older slender Lovett. Both at least 20 years old. (didn't know I had been doing then that long did ya!) ;)
Both with very deep grinds.
