Sarah, is it true that color is called Lapis? It has a wonderful, mysterious gem-like quality in person!! A fine handle on a fine knife!!

Thanks, Charlie! I love the picture. :)

Yes, the (Culpepper) bone is called "lapis." I was hopeful it would evince the color(s) I was looking for (not their bright blue on the #25 barlow, nor even their fine River Blue [navy] on the same pattern).

Still, I wasn't sure how the knife would turn out when I first received the bone-- it is so dark in its unpolished state.

That's an eye-popper alright.

Yup!

Thankfully, the blue isn't as bright in most real-life light as it looks in photographs, or it would be a little much(!). I love what shows up in more direct lighting, but am grateful that, for the most part, the knife's overall appearance is somewhat more subdued:

Nice catch from the exchange Landon! It looks bigger than the scout or is that just the camera angle?

It is mostly camera angle. The two are less than a few mm different in length. I really love the knife more than I expected. The light pull will take a bit of adjusting to.

Ah...thought so. It is a very nice knife! I don't know anything about knife making/modding but perhaps you can get esnyx to do something about the pull?

Sorry, I just now saw this response. I am an IDIOT! I can't believe I didn't figure that out! Let's see......my Dad worked at &/or owned import garages all of my life. I started working at an import parts warehouse/store in 1976, then an import garage in 1981 & ever since....DUH!
