Show off your 15's

Bone, Woods and Stag are all beauties, no denying that. But I favour this Nifebrite stuff, it sets off an interesting childish train of thought come dark-time

Very nice Redbike, love those covers!

Thanks! I was wondering what all the fuss was about the 3rd cut stag so when I saw this one pop up for sale on a dealer site, I grabbed it. It's also my first Tidioute - all the rest of my GECs are Northfield or Northwoods. The fit and finish on the knife is really very good for it being the lower cost knife in their lineup and it is one of the sharpest out of the tube that I've received yet. Pretty happy with it. How did you get that nice even gray patina? Looks amazing.

m.and - Thanks, I cut a few strawberries to eat and then spent an hour or so rubbing the stubs on the blade directly. After that set in, I started cutting granny smith apples in the mornings before work.

Well, it went from this

To this

Took a couple of days but this is as good as it's going to get - the pits are there to stay. Lesson learned - don't drop your knife in hot tar.

This #15 turned out to be quite a worker.

Hot tar!!?? :barf: Some kind of knifehell for sure. Lucky the wood didn't catch alight  Must've been tricky to get that stuff out of the joints though, glad it's up and running again. Must be throat poppin' too:D:D

These are my current 15's…

These here are the two that I am saving for my little girl and my little boy. They are 6 and 3, respectively, and keeping myself from using them is a real task…

Looks a job well-done, under the circumstances.

Nor into, let's see, JB Weld...?

:D

I love that you put your knives to good, hard work-- and that they reward your cleanup efforts.

Good point on the JB Weld Sarah. I'd forgotten about that and the #72 Montana Whittler knife. I was using it out at the stockyards just outside of town sometime ago and a youngster asked me about it and I ended up giving it to him. Hey!!! Ya gotta pass on the sickness whenever the opportunity presents itself.

Sorry my friend. That cover is just Nifebrite. I wish it were ivory though

Even this Nifebrite version is hard to find nowadays.
