Show off your 15's

Hot tar!!?? :barf: Some kind of knifehell for sure. Lucky the wood didn't catch alight  Must've been tricky to get that stuff out of the joints though, glad it's up and running again. Must be throat poppin' too:D:D

Yep - throat poppin sharp too.

Here's all three of my #15s Will. All well used but all maintained throat poppin.

Toms Choice Barlow; Radio Knife, Boys Choice Knife

They look like good workers and look like they like the work. excellent! Ebony is grand stuff, hard, austere but very beautiful especially the more it's used/carried.

Not intentionally asking a dumb question, but what is the difference between the radio knife and the crown lifter? I see a bunch of radios in this thread, but unless I missed something, not many crown lifters

Good point on the JB Weld Sarah. I'd forgotten about that and the #72 Montana Whittler knife.

I couldn't remember exactly what the substance was, only that you did a great job cleaning it up considering. Yay, Search function. :)

I was using it out at the stockyards just outside of town sometime ago and a youngster asked me about it and I ended up giving it to him. Hey!!! Ya gotta pass on the sickness whenever the opportunity presents itself.

Wonderful stuff, Ed!

(Psssst: it's a #79. :))

Here. Take a look at my #15 Radio Knife. Don't any of you guys use your knives????? Just askin!!!

Sure do! I just have managed to not drop mine into nassssty substances. So far. ;)

This one has seen the most use, although my own ebony Radio Jack is quickly catching up-- I'm loving having a screwdriver/non-blade in my knife.

I used the screwdriver on this one consistently all week, with a few duties for the blade as well:

I dropped it a few times, but only onto pavement, not into anything messy (anyone cringing yet all the same?!). None the worse for the wear:

... Yet. :D

You have a great collection Pertinux!!! Do you happen to remember the name of the bone color on the most used saw-cut pictured above?:eek::eek::)

and since you are always such a good source of information - did they make that long pull clip in two blades as well?

Best regards,
"Primble"

Primble,

The official name for this most perfect of bone is "Antique Amber."

[If I'm not mistaken, the lighter bone option on the first run of TC barlows e-vah (spear mains, long pulls) was also "amber," though less variegated and balder at the bolster.]

And yes, GEC/Charlie produced Antique Amber two-bladed long-pull clip main barlows in Antique Amber as part of that run.

Got that? ;)

Got it and many thanks - a very pretty color indeed!;)

Sarah that's a fine collection of #15s. A very well thought out combination of blades and covers.

Now if you hate that Radio Scout so much as to keep throwing it onto pavement, just send it out to Singapore where the pavements are carpeted!!:D;)

Killer collection Sarah. Just a wonderful array of the #15s available.

Oh, as to the Montana Whittler, yep, it's a #79 not a #72. Dang, I seem to be getting my 70s mixed up. The only thing I know for sure is that I'll be 71 this month.

Carry on!!!

(I love this ebony, and that it is ebony-- the lighter wood with the dark grain really floats my boat. As usual, it's even more beautiful in person, with golden highlights.) [Bonus ant for Gevonovich. :)]

The "RADIO" knife with the blue pants really floats my boat.....love it and wish I had one.

I'm not sure if I'm getting this right so please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong folks. The first run of Radio knives were Tidioute's and they are the clip mains that you see floating around. When the second batch came out, they were all spears...the Northfield SFO's received the Radio name, while the Tidioute's were named Caplifters.

You ain't the only one friend!:thumbup::D

I hope Mr. C. C. Waynorth uses that color again - probably a slim chance of ever finding one that is not cherished by it's owner!

I've really fallen for the #15. I received the caplifter first, then over the last couple of weeks it got a few stablemates. Next week should see the arrival of the Scout, then I should be good for a while.
