Show off your 15's

I know people are Gaga over TC Barlows, and they are exceptional, but I think that run of stainless 15s has the best walk and talk GEC has produced.

I agree with this. I have the tortoise shell stainless 15 like has been pictured and it is by far my favorite GEC. All I have left now are a Beer Scout, Stainless clip point, and the recent Northwoods Lincoln Jack. All other patterns have been sold off as I found myself only carrying the #15 pocket knifes. I couldn't justify hoarding knives I don't regularly use.

The NW Lincoln Jack in denim micarta has been getting a lot of pocket time lately. Will probably sell the burlap micarta version sometime soon as I don't like having multiples of the same knife.

Because these are the latest two knives in my collection I thought I would bump this thread

I am very surprised how much I like the acrylic. It is very lightweight but rises to the occasion.

I thought the acrylic was going to be my least favorite, I didn't even preorder one. Then when I saw the tortoise, I liked what I saw and a dealer still had one in stock.

I agree with you, it's light weight makes for a nice carry. It's become a summer short pants favorite, due to the stainless and light weight combo.

interestingly, the acrylic is the only one of the bunch ive never truly considered or bought. the others have come and gone and come back. i still regret letting the barnwoods go. seriously like a horse, back and forth out of the barn :D

I too had a couple of these stainless 15s, including my red jigged bone one that Pt Luso has since posted a few thousand photos of!

I was so pleased to source these but to my surprise I never liked the weight or balance of these stainless 15's, or their size so I sold them on. I think that the TC barlows bolster adds the extra heft needed to balance this pattern out, and I feel that without that heavier bolster, the knife's balance is out - which is most noticeable in the wood and the acrylic versions. A two blade wouldn't likely have had the same issue, as it would be heavier.

Interesting how the weight of the handle materials can have a major impact on the feel of a pattern in hand.
