Show off your 15's

I think when they passed 20k knives per year, Chris put her foot down (and rested her cramped, twisted arm on the table) and said this is ridiculous. And she was right.

Hand printing that many labels is just madness, and I am glad they have introduced this life saving efficiency to the production line.

And here’s my contribution :D

Couldn’t agree more. It’s their knives, then everybody else’s. I’ve been with them since the first two offerings in 2006! A couple of Trappers and they were making them great from the beginning!

The 15s certainly have a simplistic but beautiful aesthetic all their own, whether your thing is the TCs, Boys Knife or Scouts, but the sky’s the limit on what GEC can do with this pattern.

Well said and to boot they feel really good in hand . Such a great little knife that’s a joy to use and admire .

Looks like some real dark Ebony on this run! Beautiful!
Absolutely!! I think this run has the blackest Ebony I’ve ever seen or owned so have to agree with you this run has some Blackies ! The fit and finish is outstanding also with the perfect pull and snap .
I’ve got a green Macarta on the way and hoping it’s as nice as this Ebony .
I have a feeling it will be
I’m not a huge fan of the green Macarta but I wanted to match it up with a NW Fremont Jack I have on the way in green Macarta LoL .

I hear ya man! I anxiously await my Ebony is in the mail!
I've never been a huge fan of micarta. (I mainly love wood and jigged bone) I only have two micarta knives. An Esee 4 and the Bladeforums 2017 barlow.

Very pleased with today's arrival, even if red micarta wouldn't be my first choice it looks good. Long pull, single clip, flush halfstop, steel liners, more snap in this run than other recent 15s = hooray! GEC knows how to make 15s. Thanks Barry @gunstockjack for taking good care of me again.

Refuse to pay flipper price, make them chew on them when their credit card bill comes due, that's the only way to stop that madness and teach them not to buy knives they don't want. Makes it too hard for those of us who might actually want the knife, maybe even to gift it, and not for profit. These are dang fine knives, worthy of gifting, not flipping. The traditional knife community shouldn't be about the buck unless you are a dealer, and even dealers should be happy with a reasonable profit.

I'm the opposite and almost always go for the micarta option. But the ebony looks really nice on this run and since I already have a green micarta #15 with bail & chain reserved I might grab one of these in wood as well. I've given up on grabbing a clip point since those seem to be the unobtanium of this run and I didn't bother to reserve one in advance. Live and learn and, no, I won't pay an inflated price for one of these.

image.jpeg image.jpeg I did not care much for ebony until I researched the tree and the various species.

Then I bought a small piece to make a knife (this may take a while).

I am very impressed by GEC's ebony, it is very hard to work without major equipment.

Above is a very nice small piece of Gabon Ebony that chipped out just trying to square it up.

amen, gotta get while the getting is good. I remember when i first got into GECs and was catching the 15s on the for sale section/bay. it is especially nice to be able to buy them at the actual price from the dealers.
