Show off your GEC Acrylics

Wow that gold sparkle is definitely an acquired taste :)

So I've found! Chris, Bill, and Will all seem to not be huge fans either. Will said it was a once it's gone it's gone type deal when I asked if they'd be doing more runs in it.

But all the non knife enthusiasts I show them to love them.

For sure, but it's definitely unique. Wish I'd have gotten all the gold ones back in the early days when the were passed over by everyone.

Me too! I'm still looking for one of the #23s (preferably the barehead) and maybe the #66 and #62

I do think many knives posted here look great but acrylics have never been my thing.
That's ok Randy they definitely are not for everyone. I didn't think much of them at first and I started off only liking the tortoise shell acrylic but some of the others (like the Dead Skunk) really grew on me after a while. It is hard to say which material I like best because there are so many great woods, bones and stags out there along with the acrylics (and micartas even) and they all can be beautiful in their own way when done properly.

I will say this, and I completely understand why some don’t like them, but my feeling is this, I own many of the old celluloid handled knives from the 1940s to 1950s and certain GEC acrylics here remind me of those oldies I truly love and have a lot of nostalgia for. Especially the Tortoise shell acrylics!

Thought I had posted this one, but looking back I couldn't find it:oops:

Thanks Darren! I feel very fortunate to have found these last three, the Northfield 65, 15 GEC and the DLT Northfield 78, long after the initial releases.

I hear ya, Alan! Good thing I’m not lookin for that one, the 65 was hard enough to find since only 33 were made!

Nice! Isn't the 78 a Kifer SFO? (I have #04). The DLT is the 14 that should be coming ANY day now :) Or did DLT do a 78 too?
