Pit,

The mud on the face pic is one of my all time favorite cute/hilarious dog pics! Especially the way you showed the progression of events in your original thread! :D

Who enjoyed that hike more, Ray, you or Bear?

Beautiful dog. I used to have one who looked somewhat similar. I used to trial him, he won almost everything competition he went in, was on the way to being an Australian Obedience Champion when he died at 10. :(

Incredibly intelligent and courageous dogs, you're a lucky guy, treat him well.

Here is my current boy, 7 year old Border Collie 'Tips'. Nowhere near as smart as my Shepherd but a good dog just the same.

tonym, you and your wife did well. She is adorable (as is as your little girl). I had a Rot when I was younger. Don't get me wrong, they are great dogs, but when you have a family, a family dog is just nice. Not that Rots can't be a family dog, but some dogs are just better in that capacity than others in my opinion. One thing I did not like too much about my Rot was how much he ate!! He was unusually large and that got expensive to feed. And, remember, what goes in one end has to come out the other. That is why you see I have a much smaller dog on page one of this thread! :D

Here are some shots of my 3 PBs. My big boy Otis Grottel, Ms. Hossell Daisy, and our littlest Ms. Luver.

This is Diesel. Cattle Dog crossed with something or other -- he's a rescue from a Native reserve so who knows ;)

These pics are at about 7 mths -- now he's about 65-70 lbs and still has that mischievous look in his eyes

This is Shiloh the Beagle. She's my wife's partner in crime. Spoiled rotten but really sweet.

Great companion dog, low maintenance and always ready to go on an adventure. I just wish she could be trusted off the leash, but if she ever gets on a scent she is gone!

^^^

Beagles are a basically just a nose with stubby legs.

I would have to agree with that 100%!

All of the dogs in this thread are awesome. I have been wearing the wife down to try and get a 2nd dog, either a Golden Retriever or a lab. Yes, everyone and their mother has one of those dogs, but there is a reason for that :D
