Smokey looks like he is the coolest dog out there. He has a very nice doghouse too.

You must know a bit about Weimaraners. ;)

He's got an independent streak for sure but he listens to commands pretty well. (We live in a pretty rural area. I haven't walked him on a leash in a couple years and he won't give chase without an "okay".)

Despite his being a handful you couldn't ask for a better buddy.

I just know he has that look of "what are you going to do for me today, slave?".
He is the king of his castle, you are there for him.:D

The only photo I have online of my dog is my avatar. His name is Finn, and he's a 41/2 yearold english mastiff. He's 34" at the haunches, neck is 36 inches around and he weighs somewhere around 210-220 lbs.

That's not the biggest or smallest male I've seen. Very, very intelligent, not at all aggressive but would protect family. Typically has an affect on dogs walking by so to be a good neighbor I don't let him stare at neighbors dogs. Some will act submissive, some will start going breserk in fight mode, while some will begin to drag their owners around. I try to avoid that and be a good neighbor.

He loves women, and they seem to really like him too. Strangers driving by will often stop to ask about him, some even taking pictures.

Finn just wants to be near me, following me wherever I go. When no ones around, I leave him off the leash as he really doesn't need one. As I said he just wants to be with me wherever I am. That and some food, a little exercise and he's happy.

For those that always want to know, he eats about 7 cups of nutro lamb & rice a day, plus some small milkbone treats. Joe

Can you imagine him, mixed with a Newfoundland? I'm glad I chose the Doxie. I love big dogs but would never have fit him in my truck.

If he had the mastiffs size with the newfies hair he'd look like a horse or something large, maybe a bear.

Actually there are a lot of reasons not to get dogs like the mastiff. Everything is expensive. Medicines, anesthesia etc. is all done by weight. It's much more expensive per procedure or dose. In addition there is a tendency towards short lifespans, and some health problems. Joe

Yes but when you see a dog of that size playing like a puppy, there is nothing like it. My aunt had Newfies and St. Bernards and they were the most energetic playful giants I've seen.
