It was requested that I start a thread to show off the knife you received in the Christmas gift exchange. Show yourself too, so that the maker of the knife can see who they send it to. I'm off now to take photos of the knife I received, so that I can post them here.

This should be a fun thread!!

This one made by Marcel J.B. Morin. It is 9.5" OAL with a 4" cutting edge. It is ATS34 with canvas micarta scales. All bead blasted for a very nice finish. I will carry and use it with pride. Thanks again Marcel. I hope you enjoy the one I sent you.

I just opened it tonight. I really love it and will certainly find it useful when I go camping. You really did a nice job for your first forged blade. Feels light in the hand and is shaving sharp. Will try to post a picture in the morning. Thanks again, Mike. I really hope you enjoy the knife I made for you.

Wow, that one is nice...
You ain't kidding!
The curly maple (tiger maple?) matches scale-to-scale, the plunges are perfect, sweet etched finish, delightful thin hollow grind... a winner all the way.
I'm off to see the inlaws for a week in knife-friendly Nebraska and it'll be my daily knife while I'm there. :D

This one has 14.5" of satin-finished steel. Jerry Busse calls this his "Silent Knight" -- quite appropriate for Christmas. I have my lovely wife to thank for this:

MY MISTAKE -- I see this Thread is reserved for your gift exchange. Pardon my enthusiasm ... didn't intend to interrupt the OP's intent.

I'll leave the knife picture for you to enjoy, unless the OP wants me to remove that also.

Merry Christmas!

Gonna open mine from Bryce (fog2) in about 20 minutes!!!It's killing me to wait!!!

I already told Bryce this, but I couldn't be happier that I got involved in the knife exchange. I can't remember the last time I had a real, honest-to-goodness surprise to look forward to on christmas. This is the best!! :D

Unfortunately, I'm assuming mine didn't get there yesterday as it was supposed to, which means it will be there tomorrow. Sorry Bryce.

Pics to follow.

:thumbup:Here it is:

Cocobolo scales with mosaic pins all wrapped around a very well crafted nicholson file blade. I was in a rush to get to work so I was only able to get one pic taken before I ran out the door. Beautiful knife all around. Couldn't be happier. Thanks a whole lot Bryce.

Merry Christmas,
Nathan

I wasn't going to open mine since the knife I am making is not done:(:(

Here's the knife that Scott made for me. I was very happy to get it. It's very well done in 5160 and purple heart with a mustard patina on the blade. Thanks Scott!!! Sorry about the poor pics.

Here's the knife that R.Flaherty made for me. I think it's great that we both
used exactly the same steel (3/16" A2) to make two totally different knives.
I like the one he made a lot :D

Here's a closeup of the knife. A big rugged folder like this should go well with
some Globe Elevator wrought iron, right?

I will be proud to have and use your knife after following your thread on making it i know how much time you put into the knife.
No hurry when ever you get it done is fine with me.

Thanks Bob

I recieved a GORGEOUS and WICKED looking knife from Nathan aka TOECUTTER, I dont have a digi cam so i cant post pics but i asked him to and he said he would.

Nathan would you plz email me pics of the knife i made for you ?

The craftsmanship of the knife he gave me is PERFECT. The grind lines and plunges are SPOT ON. It has 2 hidden and one ( sweet) mosiac pin. The blade is made of 01 steel 3/16 i believe and is ringed. He did a GREAT job of finishing the blade with blueing/patina . It is beautifully upswept and OMG it is POINTY !! ( skeery lookin too if it was pointed at you). THANKS NATHAN !!

And thanks Scott and Scotts wife for all youve done to make this a GREAT X-MAS

Unfortunately my photography skills are lacking as well, so I didn't realize the mosaic pin got flashed out. I'll take a few more of the knife you sent me and get them out to you tomorrow. Thanks again for a beautiful knife!!!
