Show us your Randalls

My lucky day :D
I was in Orlando last week visiting family and thought I'd take a run down OBT for a quick visit.
Picked up this nice little Pathfinder

This is my latest catch - #5-8". The awesome custom kydex sheath is made by Eric Lind from Mashed Cat Outfitters.

So far... ;)

I just purchased my first Randal with a stainless blade. Suppose to be a new knife but my blade has exact marks as yours on both sides of the blade. Did you find out any helpful information about it being normal, or should it be repolished to get the marks out?
Thanks, Bob

I just got a new Randall knife with the same marks as the ones in your picture. What did you find out about them? Anyone else have any ideas if this is normal on stainless blades?
Thanks, Bob

Finally got to wrappiing the 18s...

Admittedly not my best wrapping job. You ever try to do anything involving 550 cord with curious and playful cats around?

Just did them quick and simple...

I'm in love.

Man, I haven't wanted a RMK in awhile. However those pointy ones are calling me. The guardian, and the Gambler look like nice models to look at in the future. Can the Guardian be ordered with a 5" blade?

I am loving the 4-6 fighter. After the #1 I picked up on Bladeforums, it is my second favorite I own.

alan, how do you like the Nordic bowie, is that one a little shorter than the standard model? What do you think about your Gambler?

I like the Gambler, it is available in 4" with a 3/16" blade while the 5" is 1/4" and is the only "dirk" style that's available in leather. Although one might talk to Gary about a 4" with leather.

The Nordic Special is the only flat grind blade that Randall does. #13 is a 6", #26 is a 7" and both have their merits. The 6" has a very lively feel to it, while the 7" has better visual aesthetics to it. (to me anyway) Love 'em both.

Those are nice Alan; I didn't realize different blade lengths were available...

Digging around in the safe yesterday I found these two. I've had them both for six or seven years, and don't think I'd ever taken photos of 'em.

A mid to late 1960's Model #8-4 with a nickel-silver hilt, seven spacers, and elephant ivory handle - kind of an odd little knife; I've never seen similar...

And an early to mid 1970's Model #2-8 with stainless steel blade, nickel-silver hilt, and shop-dyed black JRB sheath - forty years old and dead mint. :D

How could you possibly have forgotten about this gorgeous knife?

That is stunning.

Thanks Mack. Somehow, after owning a few, ahem, RMK's, I ended up with more Model #8's, Model #15's, and Model #18's than anything else...and therein lies the problem.

Well, that and age... ;)

This one is a real beauty. You must have been really happy to see this one again.

One thing I did notice at Blade is how few 8" Model 1's and 2's were up for sale. Would it be fair to say that there were generally far less 8" knives made than other blade lengths?

That Gambler with a stacked leather handle, may be the only one pictured on the internet. Even RMK doesn't show the standard model online.
