Hello all!
I inherited 3 Randal knives recently, and do not know too much about them. I believe they were manufactured circa mid to late 50'S.
I am including a "URL" to view. They all look very well worn. Is there an avenue to get restored? or are they in too bad a shape.
Thanks so much for the opportunity to post this query,
Regards,
arcie

Great photos LMT66!

Arcie, top to bottom - mid to late 1950's, mid to late 1960's, early to mid 1960's...

Do not attempt to restore them in any way! Should they come up for sale at some point, collectors such as myself would much prefer they remain in original 'as found' condition.

Hope that helps. :)

Shel

Thanks much Shel, will take your advise and leave them as is. Your advise very much appreciated,

Arcie

You know the vast majority of people who own Randall knives consider people who cut stuff that needs cutting with a Randall as heretics don't you LMT66?The popular refrain from them is"you have ruined the resale value you know".Good job.

Spiggles that...tomohawk with a shilleghly handle...or whatever it is looks like an interesting tool.Did you make it?Along with the spear and Model 25 you look to be well equipped for a traditional lion hunt if the need ever arises.

Arclight. The fellow I sold that #14 saw teeth / no saw teeth knife to contacted me today, wanting to sell it back. I told him I'd try to put you two together. If I were you, I'd move fast on that. Contact me via my website, or find another way. I'll put you two in touch. Once in touch, it'll be between you two. Fair enough?

That is a nice old Randall. I think "Bring-back" refers to knives made outside the U.S. that servicemen bring back. Not a knife that they take with them, and return with. The sheath doesn't look like it was taken out to war, at least it doesn't bear the marks of being belted and carried in my opinion.

Thanks for the reply. So you do not believe it to be WW2 Randall then? I heard the bring back story 3rd hand..I am in the process of purchasing it, but I want to make sure it is in fact what the seller says it is.
