Show us your Randalls

Hey Willis, I wanted a leather model one because it is a classic. Saw this one with the finger grooves and pounced on it. I don't really have much use for it but that never stopped me from buying another knife.:D Feels good to me. Kind of makes me curious about what a single finger groove feels like though. A leather model one is like a leather jacket and a whisky flask, every man should have one.

New to the board and enjoyong this thread.

My contribution. User in the back and pretty one in the front. Is the deeper stamp on the 1 because it is a newer knife?

My apologies if this post comes through without pics - I'm still trying to learn, and I haven't had much time to post recently.

I hope to have posted shots of 3 favorite handles: a Bear Bowie (I "believe" maple of some sort), a #14 with what I've been told is Lineal Ivory Micarta, and a #27 in Ghost Jade G10 (plus a shot showing how light filters through the handle material).

If this doesn't work, or if the shots come through too small, I'll try again... Thanks!

Gorgeous knives Bob, thanks for the share. That Lineal Ivory Micarta is really nice stuff; I have a Buxton fighter configured with it...very cool.

Thanks Sheldon,

When I bought the #14, the seller listed it as "Ivorite"; however, from the pics, I hoped it was a handle material that might prove to be more interesting - fortunately, it turned out well! [Also, I was a bit lucky on the #27. I bought the knife listed with a duralumin butt cap - my (pleasant) surprise when it showed up with nickel silver - 6 options (I think - it has thumb notches not evident in the picture...]

This is actually my friend's Randal Smithsonian Bowie, but his knife collection is living with me for a few months. He inherited it from his Grandfather. The Bowie is monogrammed with his grandfather's initials. As you can see the brass needs polishing, but it spent the last few decades in a safe. Thought I'd share it here.Randall Smithsonian Bowie.jpg

Bye uber-cool Randall Bear Bowie, you will be missed...

I Recently picked this one up - I believe it has 6 options(?): stainless, sawteeth, curved/nickel silver hilt, CW blue G10 handle, with single-finger grip.

Thanks - I was looking for a knife with those exact specs, and was fortunate to find it.

That same week I picked up the attached Bowie.

Actually, my wife thought the (blue) handle was cool - I wasn't too fired up for a Smithsonian Bowie.

However, once I received it, I was totally impressed by the size, heft, workmanship, blade etc..., and I'm now very glad to have a Smith Bowie in my collection. [Photos just don't seem to do the larger Randall models the justice they deserve!] Thanks,

Hello I recently inherited three Randall knives and I wanted to know any information you might have about them, i.e. Year, value, models. I also wanted to know if I should have them professionally cleaned from Randall or another reputable company.

I am not sure how to post pictures so any help there too would be great. Sorry. I created a Flickr account but I have a different screen than what it shown so I wasn't able to post them.
