The one with the hammer is the shop at Pima Community College.

I was looking through my subscribed threads and thought this died too early. I know there's some new shops out there and some major additions to others. let's see them. I might even clean mine up enough to take some pictures.

I agree Bob, definitely died off too soon!

Here are photos of my new workshop, moved in at the start of the year... Used to be a pole-dancing studio of all things! :)

It's about 500sq ft. Thought I would fill it up in short order, but it's turned out to be probably a little on the large side... Wasn't any smaller options anyway so it's worked out fine.

Aaron that is a damn awesome space.

Thanks Don! I've been very happy with it, though I could honestly do without the extra rent... Hopefully one day I'll be able to get a house with a garage/basement/shed that's large enough to accommodate the workshop!

Replacing burnt clothes costs money. "Free" yourself from the financial burden of costly trouser repairs. After a few dragon kisses to the man hammer, you learn pay attention and save a few bucks in the process. Call me crazy...

Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!! That made me laugh out loud :).

My free thought can't be restricted by the conventions of clothing...

^^ I wont lie, Ive thought about getting a really nice cordura apron and then grinding naked.... The woman would just be thrilled when she opened the garage door ;)

Well, why not! Here is the Mad Science Forge titanium sword-making lab!

Modest but efficient!

The S.A.M. Hammer auto-striker with 8 lb sledge...don't really use it much anymore. MSF also has light welding/fabrication capability! :D

Grinding corner. Notice the foot-button on the sword grinder. Highly recommended.

The forging side: forge sits just outside the door when activated. The hydraulic press assures that, after a basic bar-flattening, I will have the arm power left to work the billet into shape by hand on the anvil.

Tools and machines surround the single all-purpose metalworking/welding table. Being accessible from all sides makes the small table seem bigger, and a lot more useful. The central in-line setup makes blowing dust out the door a lot easier. I try to keep things off the wall, no pun intended.

I try to keep the shop organized, and reserve the tool cart for chaos and disorder!

Having a very focused ambition in metal fabrication lets me keep the tools concentrated and potent. Not pictured is my big computer/design/planning/hilt-making table. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: If you can get some of the 1" think solid rubber horse mats to put your equipment and tables on, well, that's one of the nicest things about my shop, whether standing on them while working, or dropping something on the floor! :D

Some of you guys have really nice tools and equipment. Some day I would love to build a dedicated shop but for now I'll be rockin' the basement and garage shop thing. Here are some pics of my spaces.

Can I ask what is the plexiglass chamber be side the oven for? It looks like a vacuum chamber to stabilize wood or to pressurize something.

Thanks for posting all the pictures of your shops. I got some great ideas to make my shop run better.
