The alfalfa hay has pretty purple strings, which you can barely see in this photo:
That's an Atlantic Salt serrated sheepsfoot, which does not cut very well because the alfalfa is so compressed that I'm mostly cutting hay instead of string. The Byrd Meadowlark hawksbill works better because the blade is pointy enough to get down into the hay easily. I was using the LC200N Salt because everything was soaking wet in the morning. It did OK cutting some huge weeds that the sheep like. Here we have Jewel chewing on a leaf:
