Whew! For a minute there, I thought it was a BRRlow! :p

Looks fantastic! I wouldn't have the courage to permanently alter a TC Barlow.

Thank you. The key is to have a few beers before you tear a perfectly good knife apart. ;)

Mark,
How long did it take you to split the charlow, make the modifications and get it back together and polished? I am trying to work up the courage to tear into some of older knives to make repairs and mods.

Mark, did you start with a 2 bladed Charlow and only remove the pivot pin, or do you have some way to preserve the factory scales?

I've been emailing back and forth with the guys in Florida for the last week. Phil convinced Evan to desecrate a TC barlow in my name, and even put some Esnyx custom covers on it for me. Evan shot me up some pictures of the results today:

I should be getting it in my hands midweek next week. This is my grail knife. It's going to be a long couple of days waiting for this to come in. ;)

Boy - that is some beautifully colored bone. So nice!!:)

Mort, it took me an hour and a half. I had to chuck a piece of round steel in my drill press and file it down, that took a little time.

bleh, I started with a single blade knife and removed all but the handle pins. I first plunge cut the pins with a 1/16" carbide cutter in a Bridgeport mill, this insures that I don't crack the handles. I then use a utility knife blade and a nylon hammer to drive the knife through the blade shearing the pins.

I will add a couple pictures to this post so that you get a better idea of my tear-down process.

Man, I wish I could get my hands on a mill. That would make my life sooo much easier!!

You can find a Bridgeport mill for a few grand Evan, I know that's still a lot of money, but it would make your life easier. I see that there are also small mills you can get for around twelve hundred, I have not tried one to know how good they work.

I wonder who will have the FIRST TC Harnesslow? Hmmmm ???

Thank you Glenn. ;)

P.S. - oops - sorry - I guess this is not a Beerlow - how about a Punchlow or an Awlow - does that count ? :o:D

Philllll,

You RUINED my Punchlow picture with them kitty kittens!!!!!!:eek::eek::grumpy::grumpy::grumpy::grumpy: This is not the Catt thread.

Ohh - OK - I confess I was jerking a few chains this morning with my Punchlow. :D

At least my photoshopped Punchlow was more convincing than those kitty kittens! :o:o

:D

That hybrid with an Awl/Harness Punch could be a bit of a Harlot:D:D

Makes a change from these Bar-Fly enabling Crown Lifters  But then I thought Crowns were Kings or dentistry...
