No, just cut this past year.
I think he means the CRKT Sebenza. There was a collaboration of CRK with CRKT but the quality was complete garbage, and CRK stopped production and I think tried to stop the prototypes from getting out. apparently it was an FRN framelock (it used a piece of steel for the spring, I guess) and the lockbar didn't even make contact with the tang of the blade in some of them.
That's the one. The lock on mine engages pretty well, but the idea of a FRN framelock was pretty un-inspired. The blade is nice- it's a pretty decent copy of a large Sebenza in a lesser steel, but the "framelock" is a joke. Imagine a Sebenza where the entire frame is made of FRN instead of titanium. In a nod to reality, there is a little piece of steel inlaid into the lockface, where it touches the tang of the blade. I guess to prevent wear.I love the thing- just because I have one and not very many other people do.

oh I had no idea; I figured they'd just keep it as a limited run. I better hang onto mine then.
edit: I can't believe how many discontinued Spydercos you have. how many Spydercos do you have total?
I have 75, I think most are discontinued.
Jill is the Spyder-Queen.

how did you end up finding one? it seems like they're extremely rare
jill you are putting everybody here to shame.
Here's the knife that started me collecting Spyderco's. My Dad bought this new, back about 2000 and gave it to me a few years back. PE Starmate (sorry the picture is so big, if it's a problem I will delete it, when I first bought my camera I didn't realize you could easily adjust the size)

Jill,
Do you find that all the F/G VG-10 Spyderco's made in Japan are of the same quality?
I only have the G10 Endura but noticed that in your picture some of the knives looked darker or lighter and was wondering if this corresponds to quality differences in not only the G10 but the various Seki City, Japanese knives over all. I've always thought (rightly or wrongly) that, for example, the Barong, Kukri and Endura G10s were really the same knives essentially despite prices differences.
