I now have other leather, and approximately 832 more owl beads on the way courtesy of an Etsy search.

Okay, maybe 4 more owls, each different from the next, in various quanitities, but my oh my this is going to be fun. :)

Thanks for the ideas, y'all.

I hear ya P.I just bought 4 x5m hanks of kanga leather .lace. AND bonus feature - discovered a bead shop not far away.

Great lanyards all!! We have some very talented and creative folks on here : ) Any of you happen to know if GEC uses a standard size lanyard hole on thier knives? Looking for diameter of the 71 hole specifically. Once I get home I can do more research just checking if anyone knows info off hand. Thank you!

For a second I thought your OCD was as bad as mine

Meanwhile, my owls have alit, requiring... another knife with a lanyard hole.

(Simple, single overhand knot, holding the thinner lacing pieces together.)

All told, I'm liking the Matthew Walker knot, as seen on the ebony's lanyard and as the end knot on the Scout's above. Also simple, but just my speed.

The bone's lanyard bead has feathers on its little back. :)

This is the first lanyard that I've put on a knife and the first I've made. I'm not crazy about having it on there during use but it sure does make it easier to dig the knife out of a pocket full of stuff.

The only leather lanyards I make now are just simple laminated leather bead type ones .
I originally made them for the purpose of a retention system for a design of SAK sheath I came up with, but have since used them for everyday lanyards .

One of the coolest uses I think I've seen for a button stud! Nice one!
