Show your Leather Lanyards!

I like the looks of a good braided leather lanyard or fob, but I'm not very experienced with making them. I was fairly pleased with this one, except my trying to "back-braid" the ends leaves a lot of room for improvement. I should redo it, and include some kind of belt or beltloop clip at the end.

Ah... so here is where all of the leather lanyards have escaped to.
I keep it simple. Simply because I don't know how to do anything more involved, and I don't take the time to learn.

But then, I suppose this would technically be classified as a fob.

Interesting, I don't think I've ever seen a bail on the main blade pivot end before. That spear point blade opened out is the main blade, isn't it? Is that a factory bail? Very nice photo, btw.

Spear main blade? Yes. It's a 5-blade/tool knife with three backsprings. The others are: Pen, Small Clip, Spey, and Punch/Reamer. As far as the bail goes, I can't say if it's original or not. The knife looked to be unused and never sharpened, although it had set in a barn for a number of years and let to rust. I never gave the bail a second thought when my friend gifted it to me, but now you've piqued my curiosity. I'll have to look into that sometime. It would certainly seem improbable that someone would go to the trouble of installing the bail, then never using the knife, particularly back around the time this would have been manufactured - improbable, but not impossible. And thank you for your kind comment.
