Show your Leather Lanyards!

My only one, and it's about as basic as it gets.

This is perfect. I hope to have one just like it eventually.

I love this thread! Makes me want to stay in all day and make stuff! But I gotta make horses rideable.

I found a length of leather strip/thong at a powwow, and use that for traditional knives with a lanyard hole, like my Beaver Tail 73 trapper. It is not highly durable like paracord but it serves its purpose.

I'm still liking this one (simple, flat), except for the color against the hues in the bone of this knife (here in the sun, to show the purple in Purple Sage):

I'm waiting to see how the leather might change/darken with time and use before switching it out, but am otherwise pleased.

Here is my favorite EDC. This little lockback has even displaced my beloved GEC 70 in Ebony.

A pretty simple lanyard using 2 different cuts of leather from 2 different continents.

sorry for digging up an old post but.. does anyone know what that mini leather shoulder pad thing is called? sorry in advance for the ridiculous naming.. hahahah

Hey gnod, I'm the OP of that knife.
I made the lanyard and just made the pad for some reason, I don't really know why. I will say it was easier in the pocket than a metal bead...

A "lanyard" secures your knife (or watch, keys, etc) to your person (e.g., neck, wrist) or clothing (e.g., belt, belt loop) to prevent dropping the item … if instead you have a short ribbon, strap, or chain that doesn't secure the knife (or watch, keys, etc) to your person or clothing, you have a "fob"

There have been some very nice Lanyards shown here , but I prefer to do them a little different .
I have only put Lanyards on what I consider to be Work Knives and the lanyards are as simple as it gets . A strip of leather strip or paracord , tied so that they will not get into the cutting area of the blade and long enough to hang outside of the pocket and to have No loops or obstructions to catch on anything . It keeps dirty hands out of pockets . Very simple and very quick to do .
