2725 pattern, 2 7/8" composite peachseed, circa late 40's, early 50's. Stamped SCHRADE/WALDEN/NY, on both blades.

Dandy snap

Half stops on both blades

I do believe this one has carbon steel blades.

First attempt. Liked some of the tiger striped patinas so I made an attempt.

Now that is what a patina should look like :)

I'll play...

Old school Old Crafty - earned. (I love the etched line on old pocket knife blades attesting to their many years of pocket time)
And a new school #9 Opinel in Inox - forced. (with diluted SS blackener)

And the old Imperial - earned.

And here's a Camillus 72 I'd say was mostly accidental.

I have let this thread go for some time, so rather than I choose who should be a member of the Order of Patina Patina, consider yourselves self anointed if your replies fit the one or all three descriptions of patina, and garnish your signature line as appropriate.:)

My all time favorite traditional folder. A 1991 Queen Made Winchester 3904S Eureka Whittler. It is my EDC of choice, along with a SAK every day. I love cutting fresh fruit with it while I relax in my Lazy Boy and watch TV. It has earned a great Patina.

Here it is when I got it brand new. I almost made it a safe queen, but the stag is so wonderful I had to carry it:

^^^ DMA1965,

A very interesting comparison... So that's the same knife 23 yrs later? Have you had it in use most/all of that time? Is it an EDC in the pocket sort of usage? Very cool! Definite aging of the scales and the belly of the blade appears to have changed it's curve somewhat from sharpening over the years. Thanks for sharing.

Actually I have only had it and been using it for 2 years. I usually carry this and an SAK, and use them both regularly.

dma1965, I love that knife! Every time you post that one (and I think there is another member who posts pics on his also) I RUN to that auction site to see if there may be one up for sale. Such a great looking knife! Keep on enjoying it.

Peter
