So far, we have several excellent examples of knife patinas gained through a variety of methods; that said, we need some thumbs up:thumbup: or thumbs down:thumbdn:, if we can ever tally who next Sunday's winner will be, so if you can, edit your posts accordingly, or if you wish, no thumbs are fine...so far, we have only one ahead of the pack.

Here's a forced patina with what I call a rip off hamon ;-))) Toilet paper soaked in wine vinegar then rip the edge off the paper to leave the bright "hamon" .

Happy Sunday folks.

Best regards

 for creativity. Not sure I want one but interesting idea.

This is a very big, and very old all steel Camillus! 4" long - check out the tangstamps. Not used much, it just got old!!

Different steels patinate differently.

I'm almost cheating because my usual poor pic makes it seem even darker. Still this letter opener/knife made from a knife file became almost black with a vinegar napkin wrap forced patina.

Boy oh boy, I'm gonna' be bringing brain havoc to my, well....brain, come next Saturday evening, counting up thes thumbs....what did I get myself into?:o

My Spearpoint Charlow yesterday.

Something a bit older ;)

I have owned this Ulster scout for over 50 years, and it is still working hard every week.
No fruit or animals have been harmed in the formation of this patina! ;)
