Showing Off My Bucks

Thanks. I like them. :D

I don't actually EDC either one. I carried my old 110 everyday when I was a Marine when I was wearing cammies. The weight didn't bother me at all but I imagine the 560 would be more comfortable. When I am at work at the firehouse I carry a Western Folding Hunter on my belt. The reason I don't carry a Buck is because it is very easy to lose a knife at a fire or extrication. I have lost several so I carry inexpensive knives at work. Doesn't matter if I lose them. Most firemen don't carry good knives at work for that reason. Which is why, I guess, you don't see too many knives marketed to firefighters. :D I do carry an A.G. Russell featherlight in my uniform pocket, when I am at work, but I am less likely to pull it out at a fire or extrication.

Thanks for sharing CapCase. I'm a firefighter myself (26 yrs.) & couldn't agree with you more on carrying a Buck at work. Even though it could be easily replaced, it would hurt too much to lose it. I've gotta put that 560 on my ebay list. I've got Buck knives covered pretty well, (including a few 110's from the Custom shop) but that's one I never got around to picking up. The more I see pics of it, the more I want it. Your pic sealed it for me. Thanks again brother.

It amazes me that a lot of the younger firemen don't carry any knives. And they don't wear watches. Both items they need in their work. :( I went so far as to buy my entire shift each a Western Folding Hunter and most don't even bother to carry those. But those guys are always borrowing my knife and I have even had them grab my wrist to use my watch when checking someone's pulse.

This is my old beat up Buck 503 Prince. I bought this knife at the PX when I was a Marine. I believe I bought it in 1982 though it might have been in 1981. I was very rough on my knives when I was a Jarhead but the Bucks could handle it. Which is why I'm a Buck fan. :D

Actually the truck is pretty beat up. But she still looks good. I'm constantly getting offers for her but she ain't for sale. I've considered putting a "Not For Sale" sign in the window. :D

CapCase, you have a nice collection and your choice in knives is superior. Have fun collecting Bucks...and using them.

Nice photos, that tailgate takes me back, my first truck in high school was a beat up old 73 GMC red with the bed as scratched up, your pictures make me want to add a Vanguard to my Buck collection also.

ps, the 119 special in Cocobolo appears almost weekly on the TV series LOST.

LC,,,grab you one of the Alashan series Vanguards from Cabellas.... awesome

Great looking knives Cap.. wish I could have gotten hold of one of those collector club Mentors.
and I keep an eye out for a 650. Other stuff just keeps getting in their way, :)

Well, at least we'll know that five inches is really five inches in that case! :D

Okay,

This is the Western Folder that I carry at work. It is an okay knife that I won't miss if I lose it. But, it doesn't compare to this...

A genuine Buck 110 Folding Hunter.

It is kind of odd, now that I think of it, even though I still have plenty of Bucks that I haven't photographed yet, I have a picture of the Western. :o
