Sick puppy?

Just keeps getting worse.

He didn't get any better over night, was still vomiting this morning so we went ahead and did the surgery to remove the blockage.

Well, there was no blockage. So now it's just that his system isn't functioning. He's on meds to make his system work but who knows where that'll lead.

On top of that, the vet took a biopsy of a lmyphnode that was about 4 times it's normal size.

Were freaking out, not just because of the insane pricetag, over $1500 at this point, but the fact that we still don't know whats wrong with him.

If this is some serious illness, I just really can't afford his care at this point.

Sad news brother:( I'm a sucker for the four legged as well. You & the little guy are in my thoughts... Best wishes

I know how you feel Bro

have Faith---He will pull through!!!!

my prayers to your little man and your family. i really hope he pulls through.
is this work done at a clinic, or vet specialist?

Our prayers are with you Gunner. I know what you're going through and pray that he comes through.

Here's hoping for the best. I always hate to hear about this sort of thing, but it's particularly rough when it is so unexpected. Having been there in the past, I can really appreciate how awful it can be to be faced with mounting vet costs without an explanation for the problem. Very tough situation.

My thoughts are with you.

All the best,

- Mike

At a general care vet. We were refered to a specialist for a possible endoscopy, when we inquired for a price, the procedure would have run us about $3700.

Problem with this area is we have a ton of stables and equestrian centers. People take their horses pretty serious and the vets get a pretty penny and a swelled head.

Not that they don't deserve their pay grade but the little guy gets left out a bit. $3700 isn't really that big of a deal on a 10 thousand dollar horse, a little rough on a $75 puppy.

hope he pulls through!
Its never fun when a pet is sick, especially when the bills pile up.

Keep your head up.

Good luck, I hope everything goes well for you. I have a new Boxer pup that is 3 months old and I know it would be very hard to deal with her being sick. Hang tough.

Sorry to hear about this. Vets will most certainly stick it to you with the bills. Recently, my vet wanted $750 to remove a small lump from my puppy's ear. He was going to use a laser, etc... but I think the price is just absurd.

It is very difficult to balance your personal economics with such an emotional decision. Good luck... I hope your pup pulls out of it!

gosh, that is just tough. Good luck on it, I'll be saying a prayer for him.

Sorry for your troubles Shotgunner. :( We've been there, too, and Kathy and I will be praying for you and yours.

First I want to say that I know what you are going through and I really feel for you.

The symptoms that you describe are exactly what we went through with our Rat Terrier - he had been a part of our Family (Rescued) for 13 years - still very active until one day - the vomiting. It turned out to be Lymphatic Cancer. We chose to operate to remove as much of the offending Lymph Nodes as possible. He was like aPup again, wild and feeling great. Then about 12 months later he woke up one day and vomited again, the Cancer had returned.

Being that your Pup is so young I find it hard to believe that he could have Lymphatic Cancer to the advanced state that would present these symptoms but I would certainly prepare yourself for such a diagnosis. Wait until the Biopsy comes back, but you might want to discuss this with your Wife.

Again, I'm verry sorry to hear of this.

That's a pretty frightening possibility, considering his swollen lymph node.

All we can do at this point is hope that the vet can pull something out of her hat and figure him out.

On a positive note, my wife went and visited with the wee man last night and she could hear bowel sounds, thats really good news.
