Ok, Ive drooled over one of these for a long time. I am seriously considering putting in an order for one. Its the only Scandi I keep coming back to. Im drawn to it. :o

Who has one? Likes? Dislikes? Who has one with the shearing hole? Anyone ever use it? Pommel plate or no pommel plate?

Post up your pics of your Skookum!!!

I had one and sold it to pay for car repairs. Dang cars! Missed it so ordered another. They are awesome.

I had one and parted with it but plan on another.
The pommel plate is very useful. Whether I use it or not, i'll get the shearing hole. Handle is very comfy but it is very easy for your cold hand to slip forward and slice your finger on the razor sharp edge Rod puts on these. I know the knife handling experts may say an experienced knife handler would never allow this to happen but it's something that does and has happened with more than a few folks. Just something to be aware of when using it.
The sheath doesnt appeal to many but to me it was the best sheath I've ever had.

I've got one...and another on order. The one I have now is O1, second will be A2. I've opted for no shearing hole...I guess if you know how to use it and have used something similar it's a good option. I know the butt cap makes it a little heavier, but I just like the aesthetics...and the balance is quite nice. I'll have to grab some pictures later...

Oh, I must say Rod Garcia's wait time is about 8-9 months; but it's worth it!

His web site says one year. Spooky has one, and he has done a couple videos on it as well. Try to find him around here, im sure he is here somewhere. If not, he has his own channel on youtube.

Wills a good buddy of mine, Ill hit him up. Thanks man, I didnt know he had one!!

Thanks guys.....A year wait is fine with me, im in no rush.

I have 3 blades on my radar this year. A Skookum, A Terrasaur, and the RAT Junglas chete due after SHOT....

My Terrasur should be here in a week or so. I have Skookum on order, but thats about 5 months out, and wont happen unless I start working again. If you watch his video on the Terassur he does a nice side by side on both knifes.

All the good things you've heard about them? They're true.

I made a belt adapter for mine.

Mine is in A2 with grey canvas micarta scales and the steel butt plate.

Great pics Pict. Thanks buddy. Im really diggin your combo with micarta etc...Im wanting mine in A2 FOR SURE, and the butt plate. Probably blk micarta...

Whats Rods wait time up to? I am prepared for a long wait.

I put my order in around the beginning of September this year. Website said 12 months but the email confirmation said it was going to be about 18, maybe a little more.

I'm looking forward to it regardless of how long it takes.

Haloblue, I spoke to Rod about a month or two ago. He said because of the economy he has had a lot of cancelations. So, you may be able to have a Skookum a lot faster then you think.

bought one fo these wen rob first started making them, they are a great knife, he does a good job with his heat treat, and mine is just like picts except for the scales are green micarta, you will not be disapointed in this knife. the fact that mors kochanski had a lot of input into this knife shows.

I ordered one. Blk Micarta, A2, no shear hole, pummel plate, 2 lanyard holes.

Dont know the wait times yet as I just sent the email, but Im prepared to wait. Also think im gonna order a Terrasaur.

Nice J, I think you will love the one from Brain, as well as the Skookum. Give a me a couple weeks to play with my Terassur, then I can send it to you for a couple weeks. Just be easy on her.

Yup, that's my knife. Mine was a gift. Can you imagine getting an e-mail from Rod asking what specs you want your knife made to?

Some people are spooked by the lack of a guard. When I first started using the SBT I was very conscious of my right finger out there "exposed" to that razor sharp A2. I would pay close attention to my right hand and then proceeded to cut my left a few times like I do with every other knife I own. Mac

Very nice knife, although a bit too heavy in my opinion.

About lack of guard: yes when you look at the knife from the side it looks like there is no retention and the curves is sending your fingers toward the edge. That's only half the story because if you look at the knife sideways, you'll see that the micarta slabs are shaped in such a way that they give good retention. Sort of "cross-cross-guard".

Just got mine a couple of months ago; two year wait it was. Red micarta, A2 , pommel plate , (no tip-hole .)

Best knife I have. I'd like to order another in the future.

I'm probably stating the obvious, but it looks like the natural evolution of the puukko design, so why wouldn't it just work great, and be tougher?

You guys keep this up and I'll have to get one, too.

Mine is a2 natural linen without butt plate. Rescue Riley is in possession of Will's SBT. It is a2 as well. I compared the 2 together on Wednesday. The handle on Wills ia a lil wider than mine, which I like alot better. I will probably order another from Rod as well. I will however ask him for a wider handle. I would opt for 01 instead of a2, but that is me.

Over all it is a great knife, I might use mine more if the handle was a lil wider..

Also, I have no c lue why the lanyard hole is inside the last pin and not at the end of the handle. Makes no sence to me... That would be my biggest complaint.
