Slash test requests - I grew my own bamboo forest for this.

Let’s see if I can redeem this thread.
It’s no bamboo forest, but it is bamboo nonetheless. And it’s dry so it is harder.

Here’s your hundreds of dollars.

(Don’t judge my dirty blade!)

I also made sure to cut through the nodes 😉
Now I only made 2 cuts with each, but they both only received minor edge dulling and will still cut paper, other then that they are completely unscathed! (And I didn’t go easy with my swings)
BRO! do you even bamboo?! 🤨
Who made that gorgeous fixed blade in the second photo?

OK, I was looking through my collection and thought I’d try this guy out.
It’s 26c3 In the high 60’s Rockwell, and it was mass murdering hair before testing...

(I ran out of nodes, so only internodes this time around)
After testing it has no damage and my hair still trembles at the mention of it.

UGHHHH....you guys are missing the point and the intention of Houla's OP.

He is slamming supersteel knife owners for not using their high end knives to hack bamboo.

We didn't come here to see a bamboo test with low/mid grade steels, or with machetes or khukuris. We are waiting for Houla to put his money where his mouth is and show us what supersteel and knives worth "hundreds of dollars" are capable of, since the rest of us "geeks" are apparently too "chicken shit" to do it for ourselves.

I refer you back to his comment in post # 10 in this thead, again:
"bunch of geeks paying hundreds of dollars for a few inches of super-steel edged object and too chicken-shit to trim some bamboo stalks in the back yard for mortal fear they might chip their blade."

Still waiting.........
I get it and not to convinced he'll do anything it was just a failed attempt at mild humor. I take his highly ignorant comments with a grain of salt. For instance I bet the percentage of people here that have bamboo in the "back yard" is pretty small.

Like the guy complaining about a free knife... he complains about people that buy nice knives... On a knife forum.

No I don't, I laugh at people that buy high performance metallurgy just so they can say they bought it. Not unlike people that spend big money to go to significant sites to get a selfie just to get a selfie at a significant sight.

The word geek was too generous because geeks actually study and appreciate technical achievement.

Anyhoo, last I feed the trolls, they will have to seek attention elsewhere. The block function is a beautiful thing.

Since you obviously have no intention of using any expensive and/or supersteel knives on your little experiment, why don't you start a poll and ask how many people on this forum buy "high performance metallurgy" just so they can say they bought it?

I think you'll need to eat your words on the quoted statement above, as well. The hole you are digging for yourself just keeps getting deeper and deeper....

Dance puppet.

Come on man, you can't afford a blade made out of any super steel, stop fronting.
I'm guessing you don't know what fronting means, because I'd be the first to admit that I don't own any knives made from the latest super steel.

Ah those early 2000's slang terms still evade some of us.

But you know what doesn't evade us? Stationary bamboo.
... it's just standing there... waiting for you to do something!
