Smoke Jumper

Steve from SK wrote to me this afternoon. As of when I ordered one, there were 22 left. If you want one, now's the time.

The price/materials ratio certainly is. Performance, I'll see in a few days when it gets here.
It's a Great Performer :D been using it for a variety of things it's solid, even on some good old mountain trout

it's true. almost, as a random example, Kershaw Chinese made kinda prices. it is a great deal........

Well not quite. It's closer to the Link and Dividend, which are made in the USA, but with 420HC. Kershaw's chinese line is usually in the $20-30 range. It is, however, similar in price to Spyderco's Chinese line, like the Tenacious. The jump to CPM154 skips several rungs on the steel hierarchy ladder over 420HC and 8cr13mov, but without a cost penalty?!?!?!

It's just freaking unheard of. I'm pretty sure that as a fan of and user of knives, it is physically impossible to say "no" to this deal... and mine hasn't even arrived yet!

not to argue but Kershaw emersons as one example the cqc10 is $37.95........there are more in that price range. we agree though this buck is a screaming good deal for the upgraded steel and made in America.

Good point. I stand corrected. I was thinking more like the Cryo. Makes sense the Emerson would have a premium since the self-proclaimed industry icon has to get a cut!

Buck knife + trout + cast iron.

I totally dig your style!

P.S.- What's the little fish with the trout?
Thanks, I was thinking it was just a young Trout but the tail and color seemed a little different. It wasn't going to make it. Had to keep it :D

well that and size. course hinderer gets a cut too of his models like the cryo. bigger blade ones always cost a bit more and buck 110lt is a bigger folder. so was trying to compare 3.5" + blades to it.

Why are you letting logic, facts, and accurate reasoning get in the way of my perfectly good nonsense?

Reading through this thread has been great! Just visited SK Blades and made an order. The website is nice and ordering was very easy.

I am really going to enjoy the SJ!

You are getting some of the last ones in stock. Received an email from SK Blades today that there were only 14 Smoke Jumpers left this morning.

I’m grateful I was able to order one after seeing the low inventory. I love the 110 but only really use it for hunting and carry it in its sheath. For my taste it’s to heavy for me as a EDC, but I believe the SJ is going to be perfect for that. I’m going to make up a pocket slip and see how it goes.

Thanks to all who posted your thoughts and pics. The positive feedback and price/value make this folder seem like a real winner!

Just got an e-mail from SK saying there are only 14 left- better hurry!

As Tecate already mentioned .

Wow, how did I miss these? Now the search is on. Drop point might be cool but really need to find a clip more.

Heirphoto, you don’t want one, they are so boring! No brass to tarnish, no wood to scratch, no weight requiring a belt sheath to carry, hardly ever have to sharpen the CPM 154, no big expense, no maintenance. Just thoughtlessly throwing it in your pocket day after day because it’s still sharp and so easy to carry.......boring! :)

Yeah, but they are red....like a Ferrari :-)
