Smoke request

Man John, I'm so sorry to hear this. :( It's a tragic thing when a marriage breaks up. You've always struck me as a real stand-up kinda guy; I know you'll find the means to pull through this. Our thoughts are with you

Thanks, guys.

Andy, even if J decides to date other guys before I'm gone, I'm pretty sure she won't bring them here! And though I have quite the temper, it's usually very firmly in reign.

I love her very much, but everyone has to save themselves. But I did walk up to the nearby shopping center so I could drive her home if she decided to let me do that after she finished hanging out with "the girls" (other graduate students). She did, thankfully. She's getting sick in the bathroom currently.

My young Uwinv, *That's* what I thought too and I've always been proud of dealing with my depression and stress without any outside help!
Then to "think/know" "I lost it" and all without realizing it totally pisses me off!!!!
I see you said, "usually" very firmly in check" Well, take it from me my young Uwinv - a man can *And Will* do things he wouldn't normally do in a situation such as yours having been in a much, much, worse situation than what you're going through at the moment myself some 40 odd years ago, son I speak from experience here!!!! :thumbdn:

John I carried a torch for the mother of my children some 20 odd years, until I met my Barbie and we got together. The best thing you could do at the moment is make her get the hell out since she's the one that doesn't want to be with you. I'll try to get an email off to you tomorrow if your addy is listed with more detail. That part of my life I'm not at all proud of which is one of the big reasons I go by my ndn name here and other places online.:( :grumpy: :(

I really am very sorry to hear this is still dragging out- and will probably continue for longer than anyone wants it to.

The only thing I can offer is- Take up Yvsa on his offer. It's great to have empathy and sympathy, but a caring voice of experience is hard to beat.

Hang in there man.

Hi John,

The holidays are over and a new year has begun...as i sat here wondering about last year and how this year was going to be I thought of you and Yvsa and your troubles.

So, how are you two doing? I hope well...at the very least, better.
Keep your heads up my friends.

I moved out around the 5th, IIRC. Whatever the Monday after New Year's was. A lot of my stress right now relates to finances. Our school system has a two-month delay: I'm waiting to be paid at the end of the month for the substitute teaching I did in December. I'll get my first "real" paycheck at the end of February.

I've had some vehicle issues as well, but I should be okay in a couple months once the money starts coming in. I think I'll be pretty much mentally/spiritually recovered by then, too. Right now, I'm staying with a local friend. I'm sleeping on his recliner, but that's better than staying awake waiting for Jordy to come home. :(

I'm getting better. I've dropped a lot of weight, too. I'm below 150 lbs for the first time in eight years. A moderate amount of exercise, and I'll be back in fighting trim.

Thanks for asking,

John

John, you're at the top of my list in '09. If i had to bet on a man getting through this, well I'd stake the farm on you:thumbup:

Keep us as posted as you feel is prudent. We're pulling for you:)

John,
Can't believe I missed this thread. Sounds like your pulling thru well. Kind of went thru the same thing my first marriage. Full time work, full time school, passing each other coming and going. School ended and so did the marriage. But I met my true soulmate and we have been together for 31 years. I look forward to spending eternity with her. She is out there John. Be patient and when your not looking, there she will be. Prayers from Texas.

Sad to hear this Spectre. On the other hand knowing what I know of you as being a nice, hard working, well educated guy who also likes goats;) I believe that you will run into somebody who appreciates these things in the near future. Doesn't make it any easier now of course:( Thinking good vibes your way!

Thanks, guys. I know I've been scarce the last few months especially, but the Cantina Crew mean a lot to me.

John

John,
Just be good to yourself. Take it slow. Your a fine, intelligent gentleman.
Do some things that make you happy.

Mark

So you're a teacher now, that's great!

Teach the little &^%$!! some manners. lol:D

Like the others said. you are a strong willed, intelligent young man. I expect things to turn around for you.

Again, prayers out from the west coast.

John, all of this HURTS as an outsider, following your life over the years. It's GOT to tear you apart, going through it firsthand. Am no good whatsoever offering comfort. Can only say, holler if you need anything.

Buddy,

Just caring is enough. :) Thank you.

I'm really almost out of the woods, guys. Today is my last regularly scheduled day at my weekend job, so I'll have more time to rest and concentrate on finishing the 3 papers I have to complete for my MAT.

As nice as it would be to believe...at 37, I think the "young" part is about over. :foot: :D I reckon if I have 44 or so good years left, I'll count myself fortunate.

Oh heck no John:)
I'm 42 and 42 is the new 32, sooo 37 is the new 27. Just look at how immature and childlike my behavior can be:D, when I don't have supervision all kinds of things happen.

You're doing ok, just live today.

Mark

No much to say from me! Just move on John! What you actually have is what you actually have now!

You're doing better than could be expected John. Keep your head up. And come up for a visit soon!

And I'm almost 28, so I guess that makes me almost 18. Which one of you old fogies wants to take Heber and me out to a strip club and buy us a cigar on the 24th:D
