Snakes are great...Finn Wolf, not so much...

It's hollow grind version? They've made only small run of Finn Wolf with hollow grind scandi. Now they are making flat scandi grind in that knife.

Mine is true Scandi; no hollow grind at all.
That was why I bought it, because I had no Scandi grind knives in my collection.

It's still really sharp after I fixed it up, and I haven't had more chipping since.
Now the edge is a bit less steep an angle than what it came at, but I freehanded it so it would still be more acute than the Sharpmaker would do.

Thread resurrection.

I just got a new Cold Steel Finn Wolf, and another in orange on the way.

Took it out of the box, cut about 20 inches of cardboard opening up a toy for my youngest.

The edge chipped, albeit just a small one.

I think I am chalking this one up to the steel is just too thin at the edge apex, and the steel might be a bit work hardened or burnt.

It is a true zero edge. It looks like this was accomplished by a power polishing wheel.

I think I am going to run it a few swipes on stone to make a micro bevel and see if this helps.

Wow, what a necropost.

Considering the subject matter, and my familiarity, I will try and help you out.
You never know what could be/is lurking inside cardboard ... (just sayin')
Please understand my comments here are specifically related to the AUS-8A version of the FinnWolf but would expect similar consideration with more recent production versions ... :-/

I would suggest you destress the edge and apply a pair of bevels suitable to your intended uses. (by destress, I mean completely remove existing edge apex and start fresh) "Suitable to your intended uses" could mean a full-scandi, scandi-vex, or a dreaded micro-bevel (works for some, so they say - LOL).

I had a number or rolls & chips prior to doing a destress and fresh primary, as mentioned above. As you can see, I also choose NOT to reinstall the thumb-stud after sharpening, because it was in the way in many applications (both sharpening and in use).

Below a short video link to Enzo above wearing a new set of skins (Ivory Micarta) ;-)
The FinnWolf is an Excellent knife (especially when price is factored in ), but the Enzo is superior for my uses.

Why should cold steel be expected to do better than Bark River in the edge damage during regular use?!😂
