Parangatang is an awesome blade... But lets be honest here... The scales SUCK.

Contacted Tommy to see if he will be offering wood scales for it. I got a set of potbelly scales from him a good, GOOD, while back that were awesome. I no longer have it... Wish i did so i could see if the scales are interchangeable.

Someone has to have both a potbelly and a parangatang no ??

Sweet blade. Just needs new scales first then a new sheath.

Originally, I was going to put my replies within the quote so the red was going to distinguish WW's text from mine. But the forum requires at least 5 characters in addition to the quote. So I separated each thought to it's own quote rather than type something at the end. After that I just went with it.

Immediately had to do that "Gary W" as the movement in the stock sheath was driving me nuts. Problem solved until I can afford getting her some special leather pants.

Found some nice wood to try making scales out of for the 5 :D itching to start the project but parental duties call.

It would confuse the hell out of a GPS based pedometer I'll tell you that!

To be fair, I'd give it a go. I actually like kitsch stuff like that. It's fun to try stuff for the first time.
