However, understand on my end that I am new and did not know...

Read more, post less. I realize you're new to BF in general, but jumping headfirst into every subforum you can find and expecting to be greeted like an old friend... then raising a fit when you're not, is not a terribly good way to make friends and influence people.

I assure you, the last thing these Beckerhead cats want to do is troll or run anyone off. These folks are inclusive almost to a fault. You were teased a bit because this is the specific thread for ribbing each other. "The PG-13 version of W&C" is an excellent way to describe it. :)

(These folks set up "snark threads" specifically for people to goof off, tease each other, tell silly jokes, and to keep idle chatter out of the more pertinent threads about Becker knives, outdoor skills and adventures, etc.)

Seriously, stick around and read some of the other threads here in Becker! Heck, pick one at random. You will soon find this is one of the finest, and friendliest online communities anywhere.

I hate to say it, but it has been a couple years since I bought a Becker. I reckon it is about time to pay Mr. Dex Withers a visit.

Dex is great fun around a campfire, an upstanding member of the Beckerhead community and he has good deals on Beckers. I wholeheartedly recommend getting your next Becker from him :)

OK Dex... where the heck are my commission checks... you're slacking.... SNARK :D

That's a good idea....you don't want to get your number revoked.
Here we go now....

Getting ready for fixed blade Friday :D

Please be careful. You could cut yourself, you know....OK, I just noticed you're missing a good throwing 'hawk. Funnest thing I've been introduced to since meeting this crazy bunch. Who knew hucking sharpened steel implements, spinning through the air could be so darned fun?

there's a LOT of good science and nutrition behind using real beer (not that ultra-light-watered-down-post-pocessed swill in a can from ABMiller........) as a recovery drink. lots of electrolytes, protein, trace minerals, complex carbs, and b vitamins in a format that your body can recognize and assimilate quickly, without overloading your kidneys with salts and HFCS.

granted, this is based on 1-2 servings, not 12.......
Don't forget potassium. Our swim coach in college said it's great for reducing the possibility of muscle cramps, and recommended it as a pre-meet beverage (the night before.....) so we wouldn't blow up so hard racing. Some of the team took it a little to the extreme, tho...

I'm sorry. Is there any reason for an attack here? I am trying to enjoy this Forum like everyone else. Read my previous post to you..I was being kind to you, as I am a very kind person. I am serious about knives as my hobby. And am getting real sick and tired of being attacked for absolutely nothing! I would very much so love to be able to be treated like every other human being here on this forum. I would like to talk about knives and share the conversations that are posted here. Why am I not allowed like everyone else to do this without a constant attack, diversion, or some other BS? Some of you people are cold, cruel, and have no compassion for other people in this world who, unlike you, actually do have feelings! Back off and let me be. Thank you very much.

Blade girl. James pretty much nailed it. Fact is, the Beckerhead group is a little different bunch of folks. Sure there a couple of asses in every bunch, it in my experience this bunch of guys are the most genuine group in the knife world. Specifically speaking of the snark thread, a lot of this bunch are closely knit people that actually get together and know each other opposed to just knowing people online. That doesn't by any means suggest that outsiders are not welcome, but we tend to give each other quite a bit of shit here. don't take it as a attack, take it more like two buddies drinking beer and giving each other a punch in the arm. Its normal. Lol.
Anyway, for what its worth. Welcome, come on in. Kick your feet up, talk about knives, what you like, random stuff, its all good here, but if someone gives you a little crap, just give it back to them 3 fold and you'll fit in just fine. A lot of good people here.

Boy howdy, if anyone thinks an offhand remark about their first post in a snark thread is harsh... you don't even want to know what these vicious animals did to me the first time I showed up for a Beckerhead Gathering! I still have nightmares about it... yet, I still keep going back for more...

Don't forget potassium.

No doubt. A former foreman of mine used to bring a bunch of bananas and Gatorade for the crew on mornings when it was hot/humid/lots of physical work to be done. I'm convinced it helps a lot. Sciency-type folks who know a whole lot more than me are convinced, too.

Also, pickle brine... I'm not entirely sure about the actual chemistry involved, but I'm not the only person who's found that a few sips of good brine helps both to head off muscle cramps, and help alleviate them once they show up.

granted, this is based on 1-2 servings {of real beer}, not 12.......

Awww, man... All this time, I thought I was six times as healthier. :(

:p

I'm sure he would let you use the pictures and make a video about aliens sneaking their eggs into the skulls of the human race if that's why you asked.

snark

It is the Snark thread, but if this is stuff from out there in the wider forum making its way in here, then no. Just don't.

Perfectly put, James. Thank you.

I did't know what a snark meant. Please read my previous posts to you here..I know they fall out of order and you probably did not see. However, understand on my end that I am new and did not know..and that I am getting attacked about the same BS from many trolls here. But if you were truly just joking around, then I apologize. I did not know. You may joke as much as you want with me..but I don't know you, don't know this thread, and did not know it was a joke. Peace... and hope you get feeling better.:)

everyone else confessed and explained pretty well. welcome to the group. enjoy the feel. this ONE particular thread is special, and everyone is like family. well, except that guy over there. he's weird :D if anyone gets out of line, we handle them. so, if you have a complaint, let the mods of this sub-forum know and we'll work it out like family.

now, mainline BK&T threads, tend to be more upright and such. feel free to start a thread, tell us about stuff, get your Beckerhead number, all that. Not much in the way of conspiracy stuff here :D

You need a hobby! Jeez someone is going to think you have a problem, displaying all those weapons at one time!

Wait... You mean ANOTHER hobby???

....This could get expensive.

It's only a problem if he tried to carry them all at once

LMAO, its funny because i plan to try it :D

Please be careful. You could cut yourself, you know....OK, I just noticed you're missing a good throwing 'hawk. Funnest thing I've been introduced to since meeting this crazy bunch. Who knew hucking sharpened steel implements, spinning through the air could be so darned fun?

Yea i need another (couple?) hawk/s eventually. I really only use them for throwing, but it is indeed a lot of fun.

I think I know where it is........ Snicker..... Chortle. :D

HAHAHAHAHAHA - Shut up :(

-snark. That was/is a great hawk. Ill have to get another one day. I hope your giving her the occasional throw, otherwise she gets antsy.

Never lost a knife. I've misplaced 'em, but they've always turned up. Until yesterday. This one might still turn up, but my gut tells me it could be gone, gone.

No need to apologize, I'm the one who got out of line. Shouldn't have expected you to know what snark meant.

Understood, sir biscuit.

My camera (or me) is not taking the best pictures today....

....But the one on the far right is probably smaller than warrior's toe nail LOL

That's funny.

Didja see the one where the inventor puts it to the test with his own finger?

Even knowing how it SHOULD turnout, that was remarkably hard to watch. And remarkably cool.

That terrible feeling when you have your arm behind your head, your finger twitches and hits your ear, and you almost jump out of your pants.

I think I almost had a heart attack.
