Thanks Biscuit. Why don't you tell Murph how lucky he is. He seems to miss that part. ;)

Negative sir, I know and appreciate 100% the opportunity that I've been fortunate enough to be part of. This weekend was Christmas tree/shopping weekend.

Getting a little better.

Y'all been busy today, damn. Well the majority of my Christmas shopping is finished. I spent 2 and a half hours in Duck mtn. and I made it out with only buying one thing for myself. I bought one of those little streamlights Derek was going on and on about.

I'm pretty impressed with it.

I carried the same streamlight and used the heck out of it for over a year. I still have it, but the switch started messing up so I replaced it. If I could find something similar with the same tight beam, same switch, and more lumens it would be perfect.

My daughter enjoys the light too. She ran around a couple stores playing with it. I didn't have to buy any more toys all night, I'd call that a win even if I do have to share custody of my light.

For DJ: finishing the front of the scales first.
These are rough-cut blocks, much larger than the tang. They are drilled, then pinned together to finish the fronts. Then they get glued to the blade and the finial shaping begins when the epoxy is dry.

I've been dabbling in leather sheath-making too. Did this one yesterday:

First class as always daizee. I could use a few of those.

Thank you, Sir.

I'm slowly working my way through the naked axe collection. A pattern is made for the 1-3/4lb Warren, so that's next. It will get the same style.

Here's the back - the focus just came out great in this picture. I love how the texture of the leather seems to match the texture of the steel in this picture. at the mercy of the phonecam as usual...:

I need to get into that. I just pick up old forged hatchet heads at flea markets. You are quite the perfectionist.

My daughter loves my Microstream too, it's the only flashlight I let her play with because it's not a big deal if she loses/breaks it. She likes to 'look for bears' with it. Great little light.
