Snark all day

I own a XD40 and absolutely love it!
When I bought it I actually had my heart set on a Glock.
However, after handling each for quite some time I settled on the Springfield.
It molds to my hand much better than the Glock does.
And the action on the XD just felt way smoother and less resistant than the Glock.
I've been really happy with my purchase. The thing shoots dead nuts out of the box.
I've shot a few different Rugers, but none of them felt right to me.
I haven't shot an M&P, but I've heard nothing but good things about them.

Glocks = F250

XD/XDM = Saturn

I own both. Just sayin'...

i like glocks, but they don't like me as much as i'd like without modification. it's an ergos thing.

the XDMs took everything right from a glock, and improved them to Springfield standard imho. the XDM 5.25s are basically copies of Glock 34/35 with one additional bonus caliber (.45). very accurate and point well for me. more importantly, they fell GOOD and they just work. the triggers are FANTASTIC out of the box too (like the G34/35s :>)

that particular design concept isn't unique to Glock anymore. MOST polymer pistols have more in common, than not.

imho :)

Hmm... I knew about hollow points, but the rest I'm looking up as I type...
I think I figured out why the 5.7 appeals to me (aside from looking as sexy as the BK7), it's got the air of controversy and a very (relatively) limited number of people own them.
And how did you get your hands on a P90, Bladite? o.O And which variant?

you're going to have to earn this one :)

it's not an FN product, but it uses FN magazines (and ammo, obviously)

about $1000 gets you one, and 4 magazines. fun, accurate, amusing at the range. cuz it LOOKS like i don't have a magazine at all as the top loaded mag is flush and black, plus ejects out the bottom

if you want an FN 5.7 style pistol, and also want a budget, check out the PMR-30. yeah, it's a little quirky, and like the 5.7 i wouldn't use it for primary self-defense, it's QUITE fun, relatively cheap, probably more common but hard to get, and shoots .22 WMR. oh, 30 rounders are standard. hopefully, in a few weeks, we'll see a rifle variant soon.

Just ordered a new air rifle. I had to pay a premium though, it was hard finding someone to ship to me without going through an FFL. And incase some of you are wondering I saved every last penny, nickel, and dime for the thing.

Well, first of all worldwood. My name is Todd. My friends call me Ted, Tim, Terry, Tiberious, I hope that you can be one of them. Truth is, I didn't even know you owned any of this conversation but since you chimed in, allow me to explain. The fact that this is snark doesn't need to be explained to me. NO one has offended me. I actually agree with everything you previously posted and was trying to idderate that very thing! We are not on opposing sides. A Lot of poeple on this forum know me personally and I don't think any of them will say that I don't choose my fights wisely. Personal protection and family safety is something that is not a joking matter to me, and if I came off as abrasive was not my intention and hope that my appology is accepted.

Hello Todd, i do hope to be friends and have absolutely no problem with you at all. i didnt know your real name as i keep reading so many different things and i meant no disrespect towards you in anyway. Im also honestly sorry if i came off as rude, it was not my intention either. I figured since i posted or changed the original post comparing them i was the one you were reffering to, even if i was, i wasnt upset simply trying to explain myself better. Apology accepted and the same extended. Hope we can all get along now :)

I love the XD's. Just never thought it was a practical EDC due to the wiegh. Love the gun though. I can't say enough good about springfield. But with my family budget. I have to buy what I feel are the most cost effective, no nonsense tools, like I stated earlier, it nothing aginst any other person or gun. Its just my opinion.

You mean the S&W, et. al., are oversized, underpowered and extinct? :D

I cant even argue with this really....you win this one........ But they look bada$$, and they are strong!!! even though its hard to see one not leaking oil all over. theres a reason the new plastic hummers are 50 grand and the old ones are 100. definetly way underpowered though.

Actually, Bladite did say he owned a rifle for the 5.7 cartridge and it was not a PS90.

On a more upsetting note, my ScoutMaster is pushing the envelope with everything. About ready to call it quits with this troop.

yup :>

at a large meeting, tell him you're gay, plant a juicy one on his lips, and tell him you're calling him out for harassment, and leave :)

burn those bridges ;)

You have no enemy here worldwood. Glad we could work out the differences!

underpowered? who's sniffing glue? :)

They weigh as much as a house and are very slow, but they WILL rip the earth up. we had a humvee go off a hill in south korea into a deep ditch. the front of the engine was facing the ground head first touching the bottom. the ditch was shaped in like a "V". i put it in reverse to try and go out the way we came in. my xo told me to put it back in drive and gun it. when we finally got it out there was 2-3 feet of earth sitting on the hood. definetly strong, definetly slow.

Edit because i type slow.

And same here Todd.

Yeah, I don't carry mine. It's a little bit too big for me to carry it comfortably.
And I just can't get into the feel of compact pistols.

I know Tauras has a lot of options out there.
I hear conflicting opinions on Taurus.
To anyone who owns one - Do you like it? Would you recomend one? Why, or why not.

I do not own a taurus, but my dad does (we shoot together a good deal)
It is my understanding that, many moons ago, they were crap. His is NOT (probably early 2000's manufacture).
it's a 608 (8-shot .38/.357) and is the best handling wheelgun I've yet had the pleasure of pushing 350+ rounds thru with an ear to ear grin. I usually cannot come to terms with revolver ergos, but this one is very comfortable, and shoots accurately for me. As for dad, I believe it's his favorite of his 4 or so handguns. Trigger break is very crisp in single action, smooth in double action. supplied sights are clear and adjustable.

Thus I cannot speak to the quality of shooting the autos, but I have handled them, they seem tight tolerance. I could safely recommend their revolvers based on mine and my father's experiences. But lacking any real time with a taurus auto in my mitts, i'll just have to table that half of the discussion.

I still want my Eagle, I just don't want it in this troop. And aside from that, a "big" meeting for this troop consists of about 5 people, 10 if you include adults. The other thing is if I burn that bridge before recharter time (basically before January), he can go in to my ranks/merit badges and **** up everything I've done in Scouts, and I'll be royally screwed.

You still never told me HOW you got the P90....

As far as taurus goes. I've owned a few but never really fired enough rounds through one to give my opinion. However, Rossi, whitch is now owned by taurus. I will say in my experience are great. I currently own 2 and have collectively owned 6 of them. Loved every one. Well made ,shoot well, accurate, reasonable price, good warrenties, have no gripes!
